In NY on Wednesday? Meet Håkon Wium Lie at Huge

, , , ...

HUGE is a digital agency providing strategy, marketing, design, and technology services. Pretty much everything our Web pioneer Håkon Wium Lie stands for; the father of CSS and our current CTO. Since originally proposing Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) way back in '94, Lie has also proposed the Acid 2 test as well as THE book on Designing for the Web. But a standards evangelist's work is never done... which is why he comes to HUGE to speak about some exciting new developments he's been working on.

If you want to get a chance to meet Håkon, sign up and meet up at 7:00 pm, Wednesday October 26 at HUGE as they welcome Håkon Wium Lie for another installment of their speakerSeries.

Opera Day in Orissa

, ,

The Opera Campus Crew is an amazing bunch that does awesome work promoting Opera. Take a look at what Debachudamani, and the rest of the crew at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Orissa, India did! yes

On May 9 they organized an "Opera day" with presentations of Opera features. They also hosted an all day Quiz Contest and hosted Opera support for more than 300 hundred fellow students.

They also ran a slogan competition for Opera. While we might not replace "The best Internet experience on any device!" their suggestion was "OPERA-The King of Internet Browsers". Check out the full story over at the Opera Campus Crew blog. party
