Welcome to the Opera Security Group, a blog where we are going to announce security updates, links to advisories, and occasional articles with information about security topics related to Opera.
The first article explain how a group of security researchers had managed to create a fake intermediate CA certificate that was accepted by all browsers, because it was, to all appearances, signed by a Root Certificate Authority (CA) trusted by those browsers.

Opera Mini 4.2 for Android has reached its final version. Thanks for your feedback, both in our forum, and through our bug wizard.
Changelog from the beta version:
- You can upload and download files through Opera Mini and save pages for offline viewing
- Videos will be redirected to the system's video player
- Double tap now works for zooming in and out
- Inline URL entry instead of using native input
- Fixed password text entry to hide characters
- Fixed problems with exiting application when back button was pressed
- Improved trackball speed
- All internal pages, like the start page, now have font size extra large for easier navigation

Opera's once again featured in BBC's tech show "Click". It's a rather short feature on the top-5 desktop browsers available. Opera was highlighted especially because of Speed Dial and page layout.
