Today we released Opera 10 Beta 2. This beta contains updates to the skin and icons by Jon Hicks and a new little secret you might be able to find if you are unable to find the page you are looking for
This Beta does not contain Opera Unite as that was released as a Labs snapshot and not as a beta. If you take a look at the banner up top you can see that the labs build will merge with the current Beta to create the upcoming Opera 10! Opera Unite is still being worked on, so have no fear!

Initially, a new skin wasn't planned for Opera 10. We were just going to do a 'clean-up' of some elements and focus on UI for new features. However, over time, the new UI elements started jarring with the 9.5 skin, and steadily everything started getting updated. In particular, there were a lot of icons that were just plain fuzzy - they weren't following pixel lines well and the anti-aliasing made them blurry. Almost all the icons have been replaced, and by the time the final release is out they'll all be revised.
Good news, everyone! Today we have released the latest version of Opera Mini 4.2. Since the launch of the beta, speed trials have shown that this version gives more than 30% speed improvements for users in the US, due to addition of a new Opera Mini server park in ther United States.
This release also marks Opera Mini’s official availability on the latest version of the Android mobile platform. Opera Mini is now the first Web browser alternative on Android. A technical preview of Opera Mini was previously released for an earlier version of Android in April 2008. Users of Android-powered mobile phones, such as the T-Mobile G1, can now download a beta version of Opera Mini 4.2 and experience a faster and less costly way to browse the full Internet.

An e-card is an electronic post card. These new Opera Mini comics demonstrates a few "real life" scenarios where Opera Mini comes in handy. Sending an e-card from My Opera is very easy. Head over to the photo albums, choose a cartoon you like and click "Send as e-card". We suggest you try the new Opera Mini frame for these e-cards.
We've also localized the cartoons into the following languages:
“There are still many developers who earn their crust creating sites using bad practices.”
These are the words of our very own Chris Mills, Developer Relations Manager. A lot of developers, when asked about the rate of web standards education and adoption, will probably answer, “We’re doing alright, aren’t we?” Certainly, things have got better. The original browser wars are over, and all the major browsers now do a pretty good job of supporting all the major web technologies.
