The fastest browser ever

With the fastest JavaScript engine and graphics library, and great speed on limited networks with Opera Turbo, Opera 10.50 promises to be the fastest browser on the planet. Check out our speed review.

Go private

With private browsing you can browse and leave no trace of the Web sites you have visited or other actions you have performed. What differentiates Opera from other browsers is that you can create private tabs and private windows.

Widgets outside the browser

A new platform allows Opera Widgets to move beyond the Web browser and into your desktop. Each widget can run as a separate process, independent from the browser, leading them to behave as native applications.

Beautiful Windows integration

With the Aero Glass effect on Windows 7 and Vista, Opera 10.50 beta looks better than ever. Enjoy the best Windows 7 integration with Aero Peek, Jump List support and a completely reorganized and easier to use menu bar under the new Opera menu.

"We are proud today to show the results of the amazing work the team has done, and we are looking forward with great anticipation to the final release of Opera 10.50.”

Ur fast. And i like that. Thank you Opera

llemurian Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:32:36 AM

This beta is really blazin' fast! Though I don't like this new default theme. The one in previous alpha builds was better, imho.

L2D2 Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:40:07 AM

I am so upset. I lost my Tamil smiley toolbar when I upgraded to 10.50B. Tamil, will I be able to install it in this version?

I want the image switch button option to be available as did the previous versions. The old version is more practical to click than this version.

I suppose the best place for feedback would be Beta testing (including snapshots and previews) forum.

mirceavlad Thursday, February 11, 2010 10:25:34 AM

I've downloaded the new Opera 10.50
but the red menu button in the top left doesn't appear and I can't find how to activate it. Reset tool bars to default doesn't help.
... and I presume that's where the classic menu buttons hide, right?

P.S. I'm running Win7 x64

JUICEDanieljuiced Thursday, February 11, 2010 10:34:09 AM

Just updated my article with some screenshots. Check out: http://juiced.de/blog/opera-10-50-beta-veroeffentlicht-schneller-als-google-chrome/

papaonline Thursday, February 11, 2010 10:34:45 AM

Hey.

I've just installed a widget... New improvements with widgets are too discomforting and totally annoying for me - IMHO, the first realization of widgets is most prefer.

It's absolutely bad idea to place all widgets as windows applications in "Add/Remove Programs" console... :-(

papaonline Thursday, February 11, 2010 10:38:08 AM

Tab's title is more readable when it is flat. ;-)

Danieledarklink88 Thursday, February 11, 2010 11:20:53 AM

yes
I don't know if it is the right place to ask for this thing, but can we have the 10.5 blue-bubble theme as a speed dial background or wallpaper?
Maybe it would be released when 10.5 will become final? I remember that the rainbow-bubble theme of opera 10 was available during beta stage...but may be i am wrong...
Anyway great job as always. The King of browsers has retaken is crown! king

The old UserJS won't work in Opera 10.50. I will upload new version.

doh Need to wait for new version then.

GroovyMicky Thursday, February 11, 2010 12:25:00 PM

Please don't make so much fuss about unfinished (beta) product. People are confused and when final comes out the fuss will be significantly smaller... worried

( Remember previous major releases ? )

I recommend Z1-TEN skin for non Win Vista/7 users up
EDIT: Or anyone who does not need fancy Z1-Glass transparency.

Adding links to posts is not working like it used to. I need to double click the OK button, and no more add link for selected text. I wonder if I should post a proper bug report left

Mozilla Bespin seems to work in 10.50b whereas in 10.10 it's chalk full of errors.

Ah, the return of the speed king! Thanks, Opera!

Jorgejorgemalgom Thursday, February 11, 2010 4:39:09 PM

Is there any option to turn dialogs overlay to the way they were presented before?
The overlay dialogs (javascript warnings) make opera painfully slow (to hit ok dialog or just close the dialog)

Mimdala Thursday, February 11, 2010 5:47:24 PM

I am blown away. This is such an amazing new version. It is every awesome about opera plus a little more awesome on top.

gpslavov Thursday, February 11, 2010 5:50:32 PM

Opera 10.5 still eats up memory like a pig! I hope the final stable release won't do that.

Otherwise, I agree with everyone here. Opera 10.5 is just superb!

Makomparvex Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:08:13 PM

Finally i can tell again to friends that Opera is the fastest browser! yes

Tu0r Friday, February 12, 2010 2:06:06 AM

Very cool! There are some bugs (at least here, but of course, it's still beta and they'll be probably fixed), so I just tested it for a while. I'm back to 10.10, which is slower. Opera keeps rocking, as usual. bigsmile

Anyway, as it seems, it's gonna be stunning! I confess I still like the current theme (I'm not bored yet), so this newer one will be changed as fast as I thought. bigeyes
