SXSW, panel picker, opera
That time of year is upon us again... It's time to vote for your favorite SXSW panels. Of course, we have a few Opera proposals in there, so be sure to give a five-star rating to these fantastic sessions that we are pretty confident will be the highlight of SXSW. We hope by having this presence at this prestigious interactive festival will increase the awareness of Opera, Web standards and the One Web.
Thanks for making sure Opera continue to have a strong presence in the Web industry.

SXSW Interactive is this week and Opera's making a strong presence this year too (check out the photo album). An article by BBC which cover one of the heated panel disussions at this years event cites our very own Håkon Wium Lie:
"Microsoft is ignoring web standards and should use its position to promote competition among browsers, the chief technology officer at Opera has said."

So, we are hosting a party in Austin, TX, as we're marking our strong presence during SXSW. We will have several great bands playing, displaying Opera demos, and show off fashion by Moods of Norway.
We've teamed up with ustream.tv to give you a live stream of the action tomorrow. Be sure to tune in here or check this out if you want chat with people outside of our very own IRC channel.

At the show, we'll be showing off latest versions of My Opera, Opera, Opera Mini, the Wii Internet Channel and some new cool stuff. This is the place to be if you're in Austin for SXSW.
This "Rock Opera" event will also feature several great rock bands from Los Angeles: Gliss, Sabrosa Purr, Taxi Doll, and Austin-natives Lomita and Oliver Future — a band recently rated Best Live Band in Austin.
In adition, Norwegian label Smalltown Supersound, will supply DJ entertainment at the beginning and end of the evening, while Norwegian fashion by Moods of Norway will be shown on artists throughout the show.

Sure thing! To get your pass, please visit Rock Opera or look for the "Rock Bands Rock Opera" party ticket in your SXSW Interactive Week bag. We will also have several hangover cure stations and a booth, so we'll be handing out passes there too.

This event takes place at Stubb's Ampitheater (behind Stubb's Bar-B-Q), on Monday, March 10, 2008 — 5:30pm through midnight.
