Opera Pumpkin Carving Contest

One of our missions here at Opera is to deliver the best Internet experience on any device and any platform. We've put our browser on all sorts of devices to date and now we want you to put Opera on a pumpkin. A Halloween pumpkin, that is, which means your task is to come up with a jack-Opera-lantern.

You could use the O in our logo and beyond that, it's up to you to how clever you can put Opera and Halloween together - but we do welcome all pumpkin carvings!

All you need is:

  • A pumpkin (or any other type of gourd or vegetable with a hard shell that you could hollow out.
  • Some kind of carving tool.
  • A way to take a picture of your creation and send it to us.

Once you've done all that, make sure to use this link to upload your photos directly to our contest website.

The last day to submit your entry will be on Friday November 2nd. An Opera jury will then go through all the submissions and pick a minimum of lucky 13 winners who will win an Opera treat bag! We'll announce the winners the following week.

Ghoul luck!

Opera is so fast that it’s a little scary. But that also makes us the perfect browser for a scary holiday like Halloween.

So in honor of the spooky holiday, we've asked some of our talented most talented artists to come up with a range of creepy-cool costumes to put on your favorite browser. Click or treat on the one you want!

Halloween Hunt Winners

, ,

The dawn beacons and we all survived Halloween. Not only that, but a handfull brave people managed to survive the 2011 Halloween Hunt! We drew 20 winners that will receive a special Opera Goodiebag each. We hope you enjoyed the competition.

So? How where you supposed to get trough our not so intricate maze? Well, one way to do it was to Face your fears in the original post. From there you should definitely help any wounded animals you encounter. Then simply claim your blanket and answer a tricky question. Most blankets are sadly not made of Chewbacca hair, or burritos, so the correct answer was Wool/Synthetic fibers. Until next year trusted adventurers!
