You might think that the national dish in Norway is fish and potatoes. HAH! Opera's Norwegians have an exquisite cuisine consisting of tacos, spaghetti, and of course frozen pizzas. I was surprised myself. The most popular frozen pizza in Norway is Pizza Grandiosa with 24 million units of Grandiosa produced each year for the 4.67 million citizens of Norway.
Production of the original Grandiosa started on February 11, 1980 and was one of the first frozen pizzas produced in Norway. The pizza is subject to a lot of humor. It's an important piece of modern Norwegian culture. Among students, it's know as the national dish. We even have our own Pizza Grandiosa song (I particularly like the part where the elderly people are smacking each others butts):
