Here at Opera, things have been hopping on the mobile front with a special Opera Mini 4.4 update for J2ME that should help many of the things - if not all the things - work better...
Our monthly State of the Mobile Web report caught the attention of the fine folks over at CNET, who highlighted all the things people use Opera Mini to do on different devices, from feature phones to Android, iOS and BlackBerry.
How cool will it be when your car becomes your phone, or you control your car with your phone, or - um - something like that.... (It's all so strange and exciting out there in the undiscovered realm of the Internet of Things.) Back to the main point: If you're an Android user planning to buy a 2011 Ford Fiesta, or feeling a wild urge to join your Nokia and a Toyota together, you could tell the rest of us how it all works out ...
With the month of October drawing to a close, Halloween was a big theme around the Internet, especially on Twitter, where there was an extended discussion on methods to ensure one's personal safety in a horror film. Top suggestions included not venturing into the woods, dark basements or houses with creaky doors. (Uh, maybe the discussion should have been called Using Common Sense in a Horror Movie -?)
If you want to support us this week, then like our picture on Facebook - we're nominated in a random marketing/PR award.
Halloween is our probably our all-time favorite holiday. We put together a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt (of sorts) for you to test your knowledge of Star Wars characters, non-standard uses of a Nerf gun, and burritos, not necessarily in that order.
We also decked the halls here with spider webs, pumpkin chandeliers, and guttering candles, and even hired a witch to work the reception desk for the day.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

The Death Star. Just the name alone makes it sound big. Did you ever think of how big this battle station really is? With more than 160 kilometers in diameter, the combined surface area of 80425 square kilometers makes it about the size of a small European country.
To manage this beast of a machine you need a healthy crew. The station carried a crew of 265,675, plus 52,276 gunners, 607,360 troops, 25,984 stormtroopers, 42,782 ship support staff, and 167,216 pilots and support crew. The station also carried 7,200 starfighters, four strike cruisers, 3,600 assault shuttles, 1,400 AT-ATs, 1,400 AT-STs, 1,860 drop ships, and more.
Did you also know that the intended name for Luke Skywalker was Luke Starkiller? When the movie was made James Earl Jones, the epic voice of Darth Vader, was so sure that the movie would flopp that he refused to have his name in the end credits! The lesser known former weight-lifting champion David Prowse and numerous other actors believed more in the project.
Here are the first three original episodes (IV - VI) in outstanding 1080p quality:
