Today we announced our first-ever partnership (see the deal in detail) with a sports team. Meet the Boston Sitniks, an up-and-coming hockey team in the US, comprised mostly of Russian players. The goal of the partnership is to further strengthen our presence in the US, and to draw synergies from the great spirit of the team.
The Sitniks play on a D-level (lowest division) men's league hockey team in Boston. Out of the entire team, only 2 are non-Russian-born. None of them had ever played organized hockey before joining the Sitniks, and are generally much better at yelling at each other in Russian than they are at skating. They've had limited success over the last 6 or so seasons, most recently losing 8 games in a row to close out the summer season. (Their goalie has a tendency to give the other team chances to score on him.)
