Football skins

, , ,

Ever tried to make a skin? Maybe you've thought it would be cool to have Opera support also your football (a.k.a Soccer), Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, or other sports team? Well some Brazilian users did, and they created some really sweet skins!

Here are the ones that have come up so far (I'll update the list once new ones come in):

Check them out, rate and comment.

You should also use this opportunity to make a skin for your favourite team! Follow the steps on Dev.Opera on how to make one and go for it! Any sport, any where in the world, just let us know so we can see your talent in action.

Opera event in Guangzhou, China

Opera event in China

2 days before the Kongzhong-Opera 2.0 final launch, some Opera China team members held another free beer event for Chinese users in Guangzhou, China.

The place we chose is an open-air bar on the bank of the Pearl River, with a beautiful night view, especially with the tender moonlight. Users came around 8pm. They were happy in seeing us and satisfied that at least one of us (Joe) looks like the Opera Man.

We tried to offer everyone free beers but one guy insisted on having free juice. I guess he was forced not to have beer by his girlfriend who was sitting beside him (and having beer). By the way, that guy is really an advanced user who tinkers around with every weekly build of Opera 9.5.

We then demonstrated our Kongzhong-Opera 2.0, a localized Opera Mini 4, with all of its dazzling effects. As mobile surfing is quite popular here, some users tried Kongzhong-Opera right after our demonstration, and others were already regular users of Kongzhong-Opera. They all seemed to like it.

After the demonstration, the topic of our discussion got broader. The attendees were curious about what happens at Opera behind-the-scenes. They asked about Jon's swimming trip, Opera's office, and Opera's marketing strategy in China. As Opera employees, we were very happy to see people so enthusiastic about Opera. Most of the attendees went home at around 10pm. They left us with valuable feedback, sweet memories, and promises that they would tell their friends about Opera.

Please see photos from the event here.
