Spread the Word!
By Espen André ØverdahlEspenAO. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 10:47:41 AM
Spreading the word about Opera is easy. Here are 6 simple things you can do to get started.
| Get to know the new products: | |
|---|---|
![]() |
Explore! Install and test out the new release and its features, so that you are able to show others how to use it. Read the changelog and reviewer's guide, and check out any video tours of the release that Opera makes available. |
| Share it on your social networks: | |
![]() |
Change your status on My Opera, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to let others know about Opera! You can also post links to new releases and video tours on your social networks. If you have a blog, make a post about Opera (maybe even write a review!). |
| Hit the news: | |
![]() |
Digg it! Spread the word about new releases on Digg, Slashdot and similar sites. Have you read a review or article about Opera? Posting a comment in response to these articles is a great way to show support. In other words, more comments equals more attention! |
| Tell your friends (and everyone else!): | |
![]() |
Install Opera on your friends' computers or phones. Demonstrate your favorite features for them. If your friends already have the browser, remind them to tell their friends again. Invite them to join Choose Opera (and join yourself, if you haven’t already!). |
| Host an event: | |
![]() |
Hold a presentation at work or school where you introduce people to Opera. Guide them through its usage and features, and help them install it on computers and phones. Interview others about their usage of Opera and the Web, and use the interviews as an opportunity to let them know about the new release. |
| Update your lab or office: | |
![]() |
Do the computers at your campus lab or office feature the Opera browser? If so, make sure you let the lab administrator know they should update to the new version. If you don't have the Opera browser yet, talk to them about installing it. |

I just install it and feeling better and calmness, because of it's full feature capability i mean not trial, shareware or else. Its look, features still i discovere,i love them very much,i have a dial up connection and its speed is too too slow just 115kb/ps that's too low and therefore i use many browser for just increase its speed but all that things not worked for me,but finally this one gives relief to me and now i am in love with its lovely feature and ya speed too. Thank you very much 'Opera' and to whole team those who behind this lovely browser and develop it too,i will also give suggestion's as they come into my mind. And i really want that everyone atleast for one use it and i am sure if they do that then they will definitely fall in its love.
So i want and i will do spread words for this lovely browser, which's name is 'Opera'.
Have a very nice week to all of you and May God bless to all of you.

Language class. OK, how about:
J'aime l'Opera!
Ich liebe Opera. (maybe!)
Я Opera люблю.
Аз обичам Opera.
How's that?

but i use opera cause it´s a good software.
so i put a banner on our website (500.000 imp/month)
perhaps it helps a little
darumaki # Sunday, January 18, 2009 8:41:02 PM
Just a thought on the banners, "being fast" is not necessarily the #1 item people consider, security needs to be listed as well. Firefox claims it's not only faster but safer, has a ring to it. Opera banners only say faster, how fast ? As in fastfood ? Fastfood = cheapfood = bad for you.
If Opera wants to compete with Firefox, it needs to come up with better slogans for banners.
I also noticed the banners link to my.opera.com/community ? ? Firefox banners go to where you download it, who cares about my.opera community ? People want to download the browser, the community goodies come after. Put the browser first before the community as mos tpeople are only interessted in using Opera not socializing about it.
My.Opera is cool of course with the blogs and all but most people on the web have their own blogs on their own sites, why would they need to create another one on my.opera ? From what I can tell most blogs here are young kids aka userbase is too young I think and this could effect the future userbase. You want a more mature crowd I would think older than teens at least.
Just my 2 cents worth...

"I've been using Opera since the days of 5.12! In fact I built my whole Website using Opera (14,000 files, 23 GB. I don't even have an icon anywhere for that dreadful IE!
However, Opera, etc, who are trying to speed the 'Net are being frustrated in a way by the existance of bandwidth gobblers such as Dreamweaver. I have done sone testing of DW prepared pages, and they are about 4 times the size that a good HTML writer can produce. These mostly stupid and annoying animated ads all over the place are another colossal waste of bandwidth. In fact, on one site I visit, the home page never even finishes loading! And I have a very fast connection. Find ways to speed the 'Net, and others will find more ways to slow it down. Sadly!"
But here's good news, maybe. MS has "hinted" that Windows 8 MAY have a way to remove IE from the hard-drive! However, some of Windows operating files are actualy part of IE, so they would be left intact. But the browser part would go.
There was a "rendering speed" test done by a Sofware Guru house. They were testing the speed at which the various browsers render JavaScript. Guess who won?
Nope. Sorry. EVERYBODY was faster than IE. Opera came in at 1.3X faster. The winner was, believe or not, Chrome, at 4X! FF was about 2.4X faster than IE. I'm going to get Chrome and put it to the test.
Don't rest on your laurels, Opera! SAYING that Opera is the best browser means nothing.
Opera has to BE the best browser!
With age comes not only wisdom, but a healthy dose of skepticism. That's one reason I don't watch TV anymore. Most of the programs are trash, but most of the ads are out and out lies! People make a claim, and folks like me will always say, or at least think, "Prove it!"
