I wish people would not just establish groups where they do nothing else but advertise Opera 9.5. Group admins should also try to activate recruited members in some way. Like challenges to post screen-captures how people use organize their toolbars, speed-dials etc.

Is it ok to explain the reasons (apart from promoting Opera 9.5 ) you're creating the group? Those prizes are pretty good incentives.

Tamil wrote a post on Opera Watch linking to another post on his blog in which he links to his contest groups.
IMHO I don't think this is a fair play, because the rest of players can't use the "Opera Watch market".
