When I first installed the Opera 10 alpha I was amazed at the speed at which is loaded pages. Opera 9 is fast but 10 made it seem even faster!!!!!!!
Then I found that there was a "opera turbo" feature so I tried it. BANG never going back! My connection crashes every evening (probably due to overload) and can be slower than slow dial-up (I am using a satellite link). With Opera Turbo I can still browse even under these adverse conditions!!!!! I now run Opera 10 on my living room computer just so I can use Turbo.
The only complaint I have is that some websites such as Facebook and Tribal Wars don't work properly. I understand why and don't think it can be fixed. It would be nice if you could add a filter so that it automatically didn't use turbo for certain sites. Beyond that I love it. I am using it right now, tonight is the worse its been in awhile. It is claiming only x3 compression and the images look great!
Keep up the good work Opera ASA!
Edit: I have decided to post screenshots afterall but I cannot upload until my connection is better.
Second Edit:
...and here they are
Third Edit:
I have just created a presentation in OpenOffice. I would have uploaded as a video but I can't, and the export as swf option dosn't include auto timing and sounds.
Note: Once you play on the first slide just leave it and it will play with the timings I intended.
Opera Turbo OOo Presentation
Forth Edit:
I now have a Blog Entry basically summing up this post

....or do you wanna surf?
==================================
Edit:
My experience with Opera 10? One word, surprise.
Whenever I go to Facebook, or any other websites w/ flash, using IE, it takes just like forever for the sites to load. But it's a different story with Opera browser.

There once was a browser that ran very slow,
Its true potential it did not know.
In the technology race it struggled last,
Starting to lose all hope as it got passed.
Its Customers encouraged the Opera engineers to just do their best,
Although it hurt to try and run with the rest.
They tried to perfect day after day,
Praying to God "Just let me browse away."
They never wanted to quit and hated the pain.
But always knew what they had to gain.
One day while they sat at work all alone,
They heard a ring and answered the phone.
" Hello?" They asked in a strange voice.
The caller told then that had but one choice;
"You can give up in pity, you can hide in shame
Or do what you must to get back in the game."
Later that week they gained in face,
Starting off faster and faster with the Browser at a much quicker pace.
They knew that no one believed they could win;
and they were all on their own using their strength from within.
The engineers began to make progress with the browser and open their stride.
The customers cheered on and they were filled with pride.
At the finish they were so pleased they made the line,
Winning the ‘Fastest Browser with a record time.
Questions were asked all and about,
But there was only thing the customers wanted to shout:
"Anything is possible when you believe
You can attain whatever you set out to achieve."
‘Come on Opera!’

I think that was a flash file (flv or swf). Opera doesn't support flash file compression. It just blocks them by default, giving you the option of loading them if you wish.

No you will not get burned its fast but still energy efficient!

Well I'm impressed with the speed of Opera 10 so far. On my system it has competition (I also have a new Firefox: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1pre) Gecko/20090611 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Shiretoko/3.5pre and I have two Webkit browsers, Midori and Chromium).
I amost missed the whole point of Turbo - but right now my bandwidth tends to test well, so I guess I'll let you know when I can't load any pages in Firefox and can open them all in Opera.
I'll keep them all running, and see which is best (but I'll never actually 'switch' because I support 'choice', not any particular browser. Otherwise, when one browser is better, everyone switches and creates monopoly rather than competition).

Well, at first I was imperessed of the new experience. But I also have found some negative aspects. When Opera Turbo is activated, I cannot log in into ANY page. And when I wanted to watch my MySpace site they will load ne norwegish language, because the Turbo-servers are standing there (I am from germany).
To the Picture. I was thinking of unreachable speeds. I am a big Star Trek fan and so I took this picture, modified it and here it is. Warp 10 is the unrechable speed in the Star Trek-Universe. Opera Turbo will be enabled in Opera 10. So I put these two tens together
so far,
Christian

At first I used the word Showtime. But later on the word Browsetime came to my mind and I liked it more :-).

Opera 10 beta has other great new features (such as HTML email composition and forwarding), and the program seems "lighter" (loads and shuts down faster) then the version 9 series. Despite the "beta" classification, it appears very stable.
I am EXTREMELY pleased with Opera 10, and I want to congratulate the developers of Opera for this outstanding and innovative achievement. Opera turbo has transformed my web browsing experience!
EDIT 1: Using Opera 10 turbo, I was able to open this page fast in just a few minutes. My turbo meter showed 5x compression. For comparison, I tried opening the same page on Firefox, and finally gave up and stopped it after about 15 minutes. Most of the graphics still had not loaded.

ALL THE BEST TO OPERA LAB TEAM
THANK YOU FOR GIVING A CHANCE TO HAVE BROWSER LIKE OPERA.

Is it correct that Opera 10 replaces, rather than updates the previous 9.64 or have I done it wrong. I have had to completely set up "10" with all my old favourites, tool bar etc.
Had I known this would be the case, I probably wouldn't have bothered. However, it is fast. Will there be an upgrade which retains all the the tabs and favourites of 9.64 after the beta period?
Regards
Phil
