Ukraine university tour, April 2009

Today was a unique day. No, not because I had to wake up at 3.30 am to get ready to go to the airport. That's happened a number of times, and it always feels far more crushing that I had guessed at the night before. No, today saw me jetting off to Ukraine, which I was excited about because it is the first time I've ever been to a CIS (ex-USSR) country.
The travel arrangements went ok, and I enjoyed a really pleasent taxi ride through green leafy streets, over picturesque bridges, and past grandiose churches and other buildings. I thought the main street of Kiev was particularly nice.
After beavering away in my hotel room for the afternoon, finalizing my presentation, and getting some other bits sorted, I met up with my colleagues Alexey and Uliana. Being that they are both fairly local to this part of the world (ok, Alexy is Russian, and Uliana is from Kyrgyzstan, but still more local than me), they will be my guides née saviours for the next four days!
We had a lovely meal, and then made some final plans for tomorrow's onslaught of press and University seminars. Bring it on! ;-)
You can download the full slides for my Ukraine university tour - unzip them, load up Ukraine_university_tour.html in an Opera browser, and press F11 to go into projection mode and view it as a proper slideshow.
These are the full, uncut version of my slides - the versions I showed on tour had less content, because I had to cut them down due to lack of time.
Also available - the slides from the press round table meeting in Kiev (unzip it, and double click the HTML file. If you are running Opera, select View > Full Screen).

SqueakeyCat - you could view the files on mobile, but not as a slideshow. Mobile optimization is something I will work on from my presentation template soon.
