A great weekend with David Sless

Milena has put a great deal of effort into organizing a public lecture through Mount Royal College. Once she learned that David Sless was going to be in Alberta she set into motion what turned out to be a very successful visit. Not only was the event a hit but her and I got to spend three days with David. We had dinner, drinks, and plenty of good conversation.
I want to say that it is because of Jorge Frascara that I know David. During my time at the University of Alberta I was fortunate to meet a large number of influential people all thanks to Jorge. To name a few - Robert Waller, Robert Bringhurst, David Buchanan, Monica Pujol, Francesca Botta, Rubén Fontana, André Gürtler, Sharon Poggenpohl, Liz Sanders, Zoe Strickler, and Karel van der Waarde to name a few.
For those who don't know, Professor David Sless is Director of the Communication Research Institute of Australia (CRIA) and who is internationally recognized in information design for medicine packaging. He is an extremely interesting man and is passionate about the cause to make information accessible and usable to people.
