Today I recognized first time the word "pig husbandry" (Schweinehaltung). I draw the connection to "husband" and was wondering if there is any deeper connection in meaning. When I remember right than "hus" is an old German word for "Haus" / "House". "band" seems to be not far from "binden" / "to bind" or "das Band" / "band". If I put it together than I get "ans Haus gebunden" / "bound to the house", what makes sense in "(pig) husbandry" as well as somehow in "husband". So married men have the same level as a pig - they are simply domestic animals, bound to the house to fullfill their duty. Should I better remember this for future...?

I know, I should have studied linguistics. :D
