Uncharted Brownies

So like finally I sold my old TV and bought a new one of the HD type.
It's a Sony which is kinda gay but I think it's a good quality one. The sound is kinda meh so I should probably go and get some sort of speaker setup to go with it. A nice thing though is that it has a slot for the access card from the cable company so I don't need a separate decoder box, so I don't need two remotes for regular TV watching.

I'm in the middle of preproduction for some brownies right now, so I'm going to go see if the butter has melted yet.

Every day I go to work I hope I get run over by the bus. This never happens because I only have to cross one trafficked road, the statistics are against me.
I've been playing Uncharted, because I've been told it's a good game.
It is very pretty, how they get so marvellously crisp shadows from everything without the jaggedness associated with shadowmaps, even though it's only a single light source, coupled with their prebaked GI, it's really nice.
The parts where you're exploring and climbing are great, it's just too bad that's like 30% of the experience, and the rest is cover-based gunplay, which fucking sucks.
Aiming with a thumbstick is way too inaccurate for free-aiming to be viable, especially since the PS3 thumbstick has a rather large dead-zone. Also it's too hard to spot enemies from far away, they blend in too well with the scenery. I kinda hate this game, so I wish there was just some travelling mode where you could walk around and explore at your own leisure.
Vehicle sections are dumb, and at one point in the fortress level I was taken by surprise by a quick-time event! I swear I hadn't seen a single one throughout the entire game until then, and then I suddenly get prompted to press circle and I go like 'circle? huh?' and look down on the controller and then I'm dead. It's a kinda old game now though, so hopefully they've fixed things better for the sequel.
