Reflections of a heterodox conservationist

Feeling better than I have in months

, ,

Nope, I haven't won lotto and nor have I managed to get into full time conservation work.

The good feeling comes from having completed my police complaint about my stalking problem. It has been accepted by the NZ Police (with sigh, about 12 appendices of substantiating evidence). The sense of relief that people were going to take this stuff seriously was liberating. This particular issue has been going on for nearly 15 months now. Escaping the continual stress of this and the constant scrutiny I've been under, feels... WONDERFUL!

I knew awhile back you had this problem but I didn't know it was ongoing for so long.
Sorry you and your family went through this.
I'm sure it's a great relief.
I am not familiar with NZ law and by the way of taking so long for them to take this seriously has me worried about what punishment if any is there in NZ for stalkers. Just hoping it isn't a slap on the wrist and let her go. Is there restraining orders there?
I know this country didn't take stalking nor spousal abuse seriously until what seems not so long ago, in the mean time a lot of victims before that.

Hi Carol

The problem is the stalker is based in Canada. Trans-national cases of stalking are not easy to apply local laws too. Her last gambit was to pretend to be a lawyer to get me fired or have employment terminated. As such, she made complaints of professional misconduct to both my employer and the Ministry of Education in NZ.

She sustains this stalking campaign because she's completely and utterly nuts. And everybody around her seems to be ok with accommodating and enabling her actions.

Hi,
Sighs, I'm so sorry to hear this.
Glad you got your restraining order.
I hope she gets help she needs so she will stop doing this.
