MADELEINE
Within a week of arriving in Sint Maarten we were introduced to Huib and Maaike, a Dutch couple sailing on a catamaran.
We have spent very pleasant times in their company exchanging high seas adventure stories. So far they are ahead on adventures….. we are very happy to keep things that way!
We sailed into Sint Maarten with nerves frizzled, without charts and a fluorescent blue glow around the boat (bad language). They sailed into Sint Maarten after the fluorescent blue glow surrounded their boat (lightening strike) and frizzled all their instruments.
We had sail track mast cars jamming and when trying to fix things had ball bearings dropping out and bouncing round the deck. While hoisting their mainsail they listened with concern to the “new noise” until they were suddenly in their very own hail storm. Ball bearings rained down on them from way up the mast.
Wonderful company and we look forward to sailing into an anchorage and seeing Madeleine, once again, already there. We wish them well during their land based stint.
