Camel Daze

These photos were taken yesterday at a celebration in Camp Verde, Texas

In 1856 Camp Verde was home to 40 camels sent by U.S. Secretary of War Jefferson Davis to be used in a system of overland communi cations. More camels soon followed. The men of the second calvary called Camp Verde “Little Egypt” and the garrison was described as “one of the most desired posts in Texas except for the camels”.

If we had known you were so close, we could have met you there. It would be so neat to actually meet someone from My Opera.

Those pictures were taken near the mountain pass between Bandera and Kerrville. There is a museum in the store and a nice patio behind it.
About an hour and a half from me.

Yep, I wish it was cold here.
I'm two hours north of Bismark.

We usually travel on the weekends but it looked like rain so we didn't plan anything. If I had known, we would have driven up though. My daughter lives in Tarply and I use to live in Bandera.
