About me

Since first coming to China with a group of teachers in 2000 I have fallen in love with the Chinese people. Finally in 2003 we got the go ahead from our teacher's group in America to start a long term practical application research project. So, for many years to come we will call China home as we study (ELFLA) Early Learner Foreign Language Acquisition targeting the rural population of China. This is why we live in Henan, the most populated province in China with one of the largest rural populations. We love people and have one of the best jobs in the world so you don't hear us talk about retirement or when we will go back to America. We also have a beautiful 2 1/2 year old Chinese daughter that we currently foster and are in the lengthy process of adopting. We started working with 'Melissa' Lin Xiaoqing when she was only 5 1/2 hours old.
