Tapping Away in the Middle of the Night

“Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?”

Hmm … ?

Oh … what’s that on the TV, there … ?

Good God … !

‘ … first successful resuscitation of a cryogenically-preserved head!’

My God … what an age we live in!

‘ … not releasing the name of the head until the descendants have been notified … ’

‘ … currently in a nutrient tank … ’

‘ … expected to regain consciousness at any time … ’

‘ … ultimately clone a new body … ’

Amazing!

I wonder if cryogenic preservation is something I should look into … ? What, with the cancer and everything.

Mmm … nah. Bit late now, anyway … already in the hospital …

Although … Miranda mentioned something about that once. Seem to recall she wanted to look into it in case …

… well …

But … nah. Think she’d need my permission, in any event.

Still … maybe I should talk to her about it. I wonder where she …

What’s that … ?

‘ … Nature’s Fist … ’

What a stupid name for a group of terrorists!

Mm-hmm ...

Uh-huh ...

Oh, I don’t believe it.

Bunch of radicals who think reanimating people from cryogenic preservation is against ‘God’s law’, or some such rubbish.

Wait …

‘ … currently attacking the facility where the head is stored … ’

My God, I hope they have guards there, or something!

Probably staffed with a bunch of scientists and doctors. Wouldn’t have expected anything of the kind to …

… hope the head’s okay …

What on Earth is that … ?

Hey … ! This is a hospital … ! Who are …

Wh … why can’t I … talk … ?

God … !

Oh, God … I’ve fallen … !

But … I was lying in a bed, wasn’t I … ?

Can’t … turn around …

Who’s …

… that boot … !

No … ! Don’t stomp on my …

… oh, God …

… I’m the … !

clean 28. July 2008, 22:57

Lucky numbers ... ?

thatgirl 29. July 2008, 15:22

Yeah not like them numbers in show lost

clean 29. July 2008, 23:12

I've never seen an episode.

Before you faint at that comment, consider that I'm probably the only Australian who hasn't seen Underbelly, too.

As for Lost, the way I heard it, if you missed the first episode, there was no way to catch up on what was going on (sort of like NCIS, SVU, Etc, if you miss the first five minutes of the episode). Also, I didn't feel like being chained to the TV for yet another multi-part drama (it was enough that I was 'held hostage' by episodes of 24 ... at least for the first season).

The only TV show I absolutely have to see is Doctor Who ... and Heroes, of course (if they ever put it back on ... ).

thatgirl 30. July 2008, 14:33

Doctor Who is on sunday night on abc at 7:30pm and Heroes is starting again on wensday night at 9:30pm both shows i love too

clean 31. July 2008, 02:33

Thank you for that - I've been watching Doctor Who since it came back (and I was pissed off with last week's episode: there's the Sontarans about to invade, 400 million cars spewing out deadly gas and about to kill everyone with The Doctor left wondering what to do as donna's grandfather is dying in the his car and ... up comes the music - it's a two-parter and I have to wait until Sunday! GAHHRGH! )

I had no idea when Heroes was coming back! Is that this coming Wednesday on regular channel 7, or is it only available on 7HD? I only ask because - for some reason - our set-top box can't do the HD channels   (But we still get ABC2 which is a bonus with all the episodes of Red Dwarf!)

thatgirl 1. August 2008, 12:51

Yes I very sure be on 7hd because amazeing race and news is HD and let along today tonight god hate the hoist of that show. But yeah ABC 2 is quite good i do watch few shows on that and i really loved spaced on it

Mickeyjoe_irl 2. August 2008, 17:24

Cliff hangers suck  But hang in there, it's more than worth it. This season is great!

I saw the series finale just before I left for Canada, Now I have to wait for the Xmas special for another fix.

clean 3. August 2008, 01:41

Melissa,

Grr. Can't watch Heroes anymore, then. It's relegated to the same status as Smallville (now on Ten HD as opposed to 10). Gotta either get a gruntier set-top box (though I like the one we haveand resent the idea we have to go out and get another just because 'they' decided to change the signals), or buy the DVD series.

Well, we've already got the Smallville series on DVD ... Just waiting for Heroes to come down in price (as it inevitably will).

Mickey,

So long as that genius kid who said Earth was 'never big enough for him' cops it in the neck!

You've gotta wait until Christmas?! :eyes: :faint:

Doctor Who should be once a week all year 'round. They can have multiple people play The Doctor when the other is on holidays, thus giving the fans their 'Who fix!' :knight:

But ... only if The Doctors are played by Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant!

Although ...

... apparently Tom Baker has been reported as saying, "Perhaps I might make a guest appearance - perhaps. Providing they ask me nicely, of course".

And this is something I really wanna see!

Mickeyjoe_irl 3. August 2008, 21:56

I guess I shouldn't say anything about the hiatus then?

Homer: Doh!

clean 3. August 2008, 23:22

:eyes:

Gah! Not only are they 'hiatusing', but there's also speculation that David Tennant is leaving! I was just getting used to him after Christopher Eccleston replaced Tom Baker as my favourite doctor! Nrrgh! Gah! Rrrrgh!

And this ... !

“Our main motivation for giving Doctor Who a break is that we want the audience to remember how much they love it. Come 2010, we want people to be cheering its return.”

As if we're likely to forget! Gah! Gah, I say!

clean 3. August 2008, 23:24

And, yes - last night I saw Part 2. Okay, I was impressed with how things ended regarding that genius kid.

"Sontar Ha!", indeed!

Mickeyjoe_irl 4. August 2008, 00:38

There's stuff I'd like to tell you, but I don't want to spoil the end of the season.

I'll just say that you are really going to enjoy the rest of the episodes. I know I did.

clean 4. August 2008, 13:25

:D

Sweet!

I was going to ask what episodes you're up to, but you're obviously a bit further along than we are.

Oh, I was over on YouTube and found that Time Crash broadcast! You've probably seen it over there (and the DVD apparently has it on the European version, but not the American - go figure). It's well cool!

Speaking of cool, the second episode of the two-parter I just saw had one of those scenes in it that make me glad I'm a fan! The Doctor looks at Colonel Mace wearing a gas mask and asks, "Are you my mummy?"

(Don't worry any non Doctor who fans reading this ... it makes sense).

thatgirl 4. August 2008, 14:11

Hmm the old doctor Do remenber the one with 5 doctors in it and they go to this cassle place and Tom Baker just laid on ground BOOO WHOOO, I like Christopher Eccleston in first 2 season and after that he kinda got little hard edge and for David Tennant or do you mean David John McDonald HeHe that was funny in topgear tonight got his name from Smash Hits magazine  Out all Docs I really like David Tennant because he kinda cool goofy looking and he wear my kinda shoes but i also like the guy who play doctor in time travel one set in new year eve that was cool doctor

Mickeyjoe_irl 4. August 2008, 20:55

Had to check and see where you were in the season clean. Only episode 5 :faint:

The rest of them are absolute corkers, you are in for a treat.

BTW, there some backstory around the next episode I think you'd be interested in so let me know when you've seen it.

And thanks for the link to Time Crash. I missed it when it was broadcast.

clean 5. August 2008, 11:05

Melissa,

I saw that one! Heck of a brogue he's got there!

Mickey,

Sweeeeeeeeeeet!

thatgirl 5. August 2008, 13:49

But he was cool no?

clean 5. August 2008, 23:18

Oh, yeah! Very quickly replaced Tom Baker as my favourite Doctor - and that's saying something!

Suntana 31. August 2008, 16:41

Ahhh! Okay. Awww Man! This is embarrassing.
I missed the gist the first time around.:left::right: I went, "Wait a minute! Let me reread this." THEN I caught it ... got with the program. Homer: Doh! I felt like a Late Laugher at a Comedy Club. :jester:

clean 31. August 2008, 17:38

I can be a little too obscure at times ...
