Tapping Away in the Middle of the Night

Tapping Absentis in Medius Nox Noctis (Ooh ... makes me sound all edumacated, dunnit?)

The Pulling of the Ivory

Y'know, for me, the worst part of having one of my back teeth extracted is the ache that comes - hours later - from the needle(s) having been jabbed right into the tendon at the back of my jaw.

Where the tooth was ripped out ... ?

Doesn't hurt at all. :insane:

I can't really decided whether to faint or to throw up... :left:

clean 28. November 2008, 11:28

Well ... I'm not smiling, but only because my jaw doesn't work at the moment ...

Zaphira 28. November 2008, 11:38

I think I'll go for the fainting then, after all, that is less messy. :faint:

clean 28. November 2008, 11:40

uh oh ... she's fainted! Time for some mouth to mouth ... !

Zaphira 28. November 2008, 11:41

*lays completely still*

clean 28. November 2008, 11:43

Hmm ... why is she laying completely still?

clean 28. November 2008, 11:47

Uh oh ... painkillers kicking in ...

clean 28. November 2008, 11:48

:faint:

Zaphira 28. November 2008, 11:49

How romantic!

Anyway, having a look at that jaw, that may be best after all. :left:

Why was the tooth pulled out?

OkayPJs 28. November 2008, 12:29

Oooh, dentistry... I have bad experiences... Fucking jerk injected my tongue  . I hate the anasthetic ache.

julka 28. November 2008, 12:39

I prefer the pain after anesthetic.
When I was a young child I had to have my milk teeth (the two front ones) removed as the others were ready behind them if you know what I mean. Lovely dentist said to my dad I don't need anesthetic as milk teeth don't really have much of the roots. And my dad listened to her...

Needles to say the roots were bigger then teeth themself.
So at the end of the day I am cool with needles and pain afterwards :-)

Furie 28. November 2008, 13:44

Uh oh, they've both fainted. Time to do things to them and post it on Youtube.
*unzips*

Zaphira 28. November 2008, 13:46

Don't take that out if it's dear to you...

Furie 28. November 2008, 15:30

*finishes unzipping his camera bag and starts taking photos*

sanshan 28. November 2008, 16:05

:eyes: Note to self...never again look at any post about dental problems.

..to quote Dr. Szell in Marathon Man, "Is it safe? Is it safe?"

rose-marie 28. November 2008, 16:06

I've never had a tooth pulled, or had anaesthetic at the dentist .

angel292005 28. November 2008, 17:29

Rose........:eyes:

Ouch...feel better soon. awww

clean 29. November 2008, 00:21

Ms Z,

Why ... because I wasn't in enough pain! No ... just neglect ... :left: :right:

PJ,

Now that's just wrong ... injecting your tongue? Must have given you great confidence in his ability in general.

Worst injection I ever had was for a back tooth ages ago ... for some reason she put the needle in just near my uvula ... and kept going ... I started wondering just how far she had to push before she hit spinal column (probably a lot further than it felt, but still ... )

Julka,

So ... because of a painful experience, you've adapted so you can just deal with it?! :eyes: Wow ... I would have nursed a deep grudge against the world in general. Revenge will be ... uh would have ... been mine ... oh, yes ... mine ...

Mik,

I have to see those photos! Then I can find out what Ms Z looks like!

San,

It's safe. I was just trying to compete with Cois' finger post, but I couldn't find anything to top it ...

(No, San ... ! Don't click on that link ... ! No ... ! Noooooooo ... !)

Rose,

You've had work done at the dentist, but without anaesthetic? :eyes: Or you haven't had work done at the dentist because you have such good teeth?

Sarah,

Thank you

sanshan 29. November 2008, 02:26

Oh I used to be a first aid attendant, it's kind of interesting. Amazing how it just came off like a little finger glove.

And there's my good excuse to never have to wear a wedding ring.

clean 29. November 2008, 06:18

 I can see you turning into an anti-ring activist, posting pics from Cois' blog outside jewellery stores ...

Cois 29. November 2008, 08:50

My tooth aches just looking at that pic :insane:

clean 29. November 2008, 09:00

I've found a worse one ... someone with half their face (surgically) ripped away ... but I won't post it.

OkayPJs 29. November 2008, 09:23

Yeah, it didn't help that he was like, 4 feet tall and had a high-pitched voice, either.
Alas, you win. A needle edging towards a uvula is far scarier in my book

clean 29. November 2008, 09:26

Are you serious? A gnome operating on you is far more scary ... !

Cois 29. November 2008, 11:30

Only half the face? awww i wanna die a horrific mutilating death so I can become famous by being posted on the net.. :left:

rose-marie 29. November 2008, 11:47

I've had quite a few fillings and a root filling, but no anaesthetics.
I think I'd have one if I was having a tooth pulled, though :left:.

OkayPJs 29. November 2008, 13:34

No anasthetic for fillings? :faint:

julka 29. November 2008, 13:47

No anasthetic for fillings?

This used to be a "standard" in the 80's and early 90's in some countries... :worried:

Cois 29. November 2008, 14:24

Heroine is the viable alternative

sanshan 29. November 2008, 17:13

My aunt never had anaesthetic for dental work. She found the resulting migraine from the freezing was far worse than the pain of the drilling. Weird eh?

Cois 29. November 2008, 19:56

Nobody brags about taking heroine so you'll never know if they take it  ok I'll stop now p:

OkayPJs 29. November 2008, 21:28

Clint, heroin. Heroine is a female hero. They're pronounced the same.

I guess I never really thought about the no-anestheis thing. I do know that my grandmother had her appendix out during WW2 without any, though. But that's waaaay back.

OkayPJs 29. November 2008, 21:32

(*after correcting Clint, sees her own spelling and shoots self for unusually frequent mistakes, and also before wolfie rips her throat out for being a hypocrite*)

clean 29. November 2008, 23:50

I used to get fillings at the dental clinic they had set up when I was in primary school ... no anaesthetic ... they either figured kids weren't worth it, or didn't want to stuff around with doses and suchlike. Ahh ... the late 70s, early 80s ... :faint:

angel292005 30. November 2008, 00:52

You act like that was a bad time. Not that I would know about going to school in the early 80's. Agggggg!

clean 30. November 2008, 00:59

Obviously late high school for you ... early for me

Nerak 30. November 2008, 07:09

:eyes:

:gag:

Cois 30. November 2008, 08:13

 i have no words p:

clean 30. November 2008, 09:17

That's because you're busy licking some heroine (it's Wonder Woman, isn't it?)

Nerak 30. November 2008, 09:35

I had Wonder Woman Underoos when I was a kid. I SO wanted to be her! :o:

I'm really good at giving input where it's not wanted, huh? :left: Sorry, guys...carry on!

clean 30. November 2008, 10:20

And the adult version (for Cois) ...

Nerak 30. November 2008, 11:04

:yikes: Screw Cois! I gotta get me that!!! I'm adding it to my Christmas list!

clean 30. November 2008, 11:28

I thought the 'with cuffs' bit sounded ... interesting ...

Nerak 30. November 2008, 12:14

Furie 30. November 2008, 12:38

Anyone else wondering where the baton is? :insane:

clean 30. November 2008, 12:54

I wonder where the 'magic lasso' wound up ...

Furie 30. November 2008, 13:05

Got turned into cuffs apparently.

clean 30. November 2008, 13:07

Hmm ... I wonder where the invisible plane went ... ? :eyes:

wickedlizard 30. November 2008, 14:53

:insane: this reminds me of my dental surgery! My face was all puffed up and blue afterwards! :insane:

Cois 30. November 2008, 17:22

Wonder woman reminds you of dental surgery? :insane: there goes my sweet dreams awww
