Tapping Away in the Middle of the Night

It's Funny to Me ...

Carbon Trading ... ?

, , , , , ,

When people die, those left behind sometimes decide to go for cremation ...

... and some folks go further ...

Introducing Life Gem® ...

Life Gem® takes part of those 'cremains' and - in their own words - use them to create a 'certified, high-quality diamond ... from the carbon of your loved one'.

So now you, too, can give horrible Aunt Suzie the bird forever, by turning her into a ring to wear on your middle finger!

Life Gem® ... just think of the possibilities ...

Life Gem® ... it may be all too real ...

I remember seeing something like this on a tv series.. Can't recall the name now..

The Dark Furie 11. June 2009, 10:00

I always thought that was ridiculous.

"Miss your loved one? Turn them into costume jewellery."
The money could be spent on some decent grief counselling rather than a shallow attempt to hold on to something. Next they'll be offering human taxidermy.

:sherlock: Actually, the taxidermy thing didn't go over well... It was loosely associated with the funeral parlor next door.
Perhaps it was the name. Addams & Gorey Family Mortuary.
Then we had "Chas. Addams, taxidermist.
  We stuff anything." :left:

:insane: i know people who need a stuffing

I've always found it an odd phrase, "Stuffed and mounted ... "

Cois 11. June 2009, 22:43

I always found it very sexual :left:

Isn't that what a dinner date is for?

:insane: Can you imagine being worn for god knows how many centuries and pawned left right and center, you never know on who's finger you might end up on! :eyes:

The Dark Furie 12. June 2009, 00:29

I thought a dinner date was for when you want to eat out, can't afford it and have a really good excuse about where you've left your wallet?

Farts Kittens and Poops Rainbows 12. June 2009, 03:57

Imagine ... Great Aunt Bertha as a ring ends up pawned off by the descendants at some point in the future ... bought by someone who wanted to wear it to spruce up the scene in their next film ...

... where they fist a gorilla ...

Dennis 12. June 2009, 08:05

This blog post has officially crossed the line into my definition of strange. :insane:

Whassit Tooh-Ya 14. June 2009, 23:23

I remember reading about this a little while ago. It's creepy... But... Hey... It's creepy to put a little urn of a charred relative on the mantle, too :insane: . I suppose the sentiment behind it is nice and all. But... Can you imagine some dude making an engagement ring out of his dear grandma?
"Of course I'll marry you!"
"I'm glad you like it, honey. She likes you too..." bleurgh.

Well, it's a step up from Norman Bates.

Farts Kittens and Poops Rainbows 15. June 2009, 21:07

Kimmie,

Somewhere at some point in the future, that will happen!

Rosie,

And you can take the jewelery in the shower with you!
