God Sanctifies Believers

At the moment of conversion God sets believers apart from the corruption of
the world for His glory and purpose (2 Pet. 1:4). In our Lord's prayer to
His Holy Father, He asked that believers be sanctified by the truth of His
Word (John 17:17). It is through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit,
while abiding in God's Word, that believers become vessels for honor,
sanctified, and useful to the Master (2 Tim. 2:21; 2 Thes.
2:13-14). Through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, believers are
conformed to the image of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18; Rom. 8:29).
