My Entries into the "We're Linux" Video Contest

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Well, I *really* don't think I stand a chance against the surgeons. But one of the judges, Joe Brockmeier, has referenced a short-list of seven by Steven J Vaughan-Nichols as a good indicator of potential finalists. I'm not Linux, Version 3 made the cut! (I still think Version 1 is the best.)
But wait... No One-Man Band? That dude
Despite my joking below, I'd really like to cover the Japan Linux Symposium in October. I will be at the first annual LinuxCon in Portland this September, and I think this Autumn would make for a fine Linux Fest in my own life. My love for Linux is what led to my writing at PhoneDog. And while I've lost no love for Android (or for PhoneDog), I feel I've neglected Tux a bit.
Just another reminder - your votes *do* count.
As long as I have your attention: Android fans might like a review I wrote of GMote, which plays nicely with Linux. I'm crossing my fingers for Amarok support, though. [/EDIT]

Hi, everyone. Long time, no update.
I waited until the last minute to get this done, and it definitely shows - especially in the first video. Still, that one's probably my favorite. I think number two could have been scrapped, but I want to take every shot I can. Number three is pretty decent... but number two sucks. Wait... Why did I post number two?
Wish me luck! I'd love to go to Japan and briefly (for like, five minutes) live the life of a lazy computer spokesperson; a la Dell Dude and Mac guy. Do I have to smoke weed for that role? I'd probably forget my lines and curl up on an old bean bag in the corner of the set. John Hodgeman doesn't get a reference here. Nevermind, there he is.
If you like them, please go to my page at the Linux Foundation and vote for/favorite my videos. At first, they said viewer response would have no effect on the judging - but apparently, that's changed. And I don't think it helps that my spots were posted with the wrong aspect ratio.

And I agree that the second one is the least organized.
I would probably also agree that the first one is maybe the best, but the third one is also good.
One can tell that they are not expensive profesional videos, but they still are pretty well done, with the quality of video, sound and editing. The content is good of course
Edit: how do you vote for these? I made an account, and I've been around the site, it says click on the blue stars, but they are not displayed next to the videos, only as hovers in the video list on the contest page. Is it something that is not working in Opera or what?
edit edit: never mind, it works now. I guess it was something in the cashe or maybe an activation period or something...

Yeah, probably an activation period so people don't create 50 accounts and vote on their own vids. Thanks for your compliments. Wish me luck.
And for those of you who hit this page thanks to my shameless self-promotion, click the pic of the poster above. Great blog.
