Wii will be ready soon!

wii and ds

The release for the Opera-powered Internet Channel for Wii will happen in April, but the final date remains to be determined. We're continuing to finalize what promises to be the best Web surfing experience on the Wii console. We promise to keep you updated on any news we receive on the final release date yes.

But we also got some good news for you up.

Many of you might have heard that the Nintendo DS Browser will be released to the North American market on June 4, 2007.

The DS browser was released in Europe back in October 2006, and while most Europeans have been using the Opera-powered DS Browser to surf the Web, the Americans have been craving it ever since. The retail price has not yet been confirmed, but in Europe the browser can be purchased for 39.99 EURO (53.5 USD).

The wait is soon over!!

In any case, yay for Opera. BTW, are the plans still for free-to-download the first 6 months after release? (or something like that)

Jman1357 Thursday, March 22, 2007 8:47:59 PM

Yay! I've been waiting for this for a long time. smile

bad news Wii Internet Channel

I was expecting late March 2007

Daned4n3 Saturday, March 24, 2007 2:41:32 PM

I wonder, will the Wii browser be developed further after the release?

I don't think you can ever make a "final" version of a web browser.

(Also i wonder if it will have Wiidgets smile)

"what about downloads???"
that would be great too. saving pics and videos on the sd cards would sweet. I mean all i would need is a small kitchen and i'd never come downstairs. but its still unrealistic without having a bigger internal space.
But if you all think about it those extra's are only well... extra's things like highlighting(copy and paste), top of page key, an ADDRESS BAR! and some TABS would be better than good but preety freakin great.

"and the weird typing ???"
the bad news with that is a lil mixed because ninty is still showcasing their wonderful wand of power. and with adding a keyboard is only gonna drive mod chip-makers to put a pc game on there, even if its not powerful enough to display the newer games. it will be tried.

the good news is that a keyboard is still not out of the question just don't expect it anytime this year.

I would like to know when the DS browser will be released in New Zealand ... that's the one for the original DS! -- I have no idea which one is released if any...

argh!

Anyways... That's cool! It's going to be my birthday present I just know it!!

20/04/1989! My 18th birthday!

I'm already receiving Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04) from Canonical (lol)

SO it would be rather fitting to have it released on the 19th April (so NZ gets it on the 20th!)

But I would prefer it earlier -- like the 14th (saturday...euh!)

zack!!! Wednesday, March 28, 2007 3:01:04 PM

sweet!!

aquasabre Wednesday, March 28, 2007 5:29:58 PM

is the new internet channel gonna have a better flash player cos time and websites are movn on :‘(

Adamhypeserver Wednesday, March 28, 2007 7:54:00 PM

If that says $53.50 then that's a little harsh to charge for the webbrowser. If it's that much money I'm sorry to say I probably won't be buying it anytime soon.

Haavardhaavard Wednesday, March 28, 2007 8:32:51 PM

500 Wii points. About $5.

KylieKyzi Thursday, March 29, 2007 7:51:12 AM

all i want is to be able to down load but it would be cool if you made a keyboard like make it like the wii remote no cords but u no if theres got to be a cord it work it be a key borad

the reason i want to down load is becase world of war craft it be awsome playing it on wii and other online games so all i want is to be able to play online game like magic online and maybe a key board
