The My Opera Awards

It's time to recognize the true stars of the My Opera community: You! As we approach our millionth member , we wanted to recognize all the people who make My Opera as cool as it is.

We're giving you the opportunity to nominate candidates in two categories (see below). On Tuesday September 4th nominations will close, and five lucky finalists will be in the running to win.

The list of finalists will be presented here on My Opera, and we'll rely on community vote for this contest. Previously there has been discussion about the validity of an open poll, but we want the community - and not Opera - to determine the winners.

Ok, Ok, so what do I have to do?

Look through each category and submit your list of finalists for each subcategory. For example: Best blog by a male is [link to blog], best blog by a female is [link to blog], etc. You get the idea, but if you have any questions you can post them as a ~~awesome~~ comment and we'll reply.

Anywhow, on Friday September 14th there will be a grand award ceremony where we present the winners (get the popcorn ready)!

We wish everyone the best of luck - and we're eagerly awaiting your list of sweet nominees! Let it rip!

We decided to limit the amount of categories because we were not sure how much response it would generate. We can't add more categories at this stage. We discussed thoroughly which categories we wanted to have before the My Opera Awards was launched.
