Blog Action Day

blog action day opera community

On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - this year, the environment. It doesn't have to be a rant or a complaint, it could be some helpful tips on what your readers could do - or a story of what you do to save energy / reduce your carbon footprint.

There are a number of large blogs and blogging communities who are participating, including the likes of; Opera Community (up), COLOURlovers, LifeHacker, GigaOm, Reddit and the United Nations Environment Programme.

We encourage everyone to post about the environment in your own way and relating to your own topic. The aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future. This is about MASS participation and that means we need you, your friends and your family to attend. If you like the idea of the project and want to participate, you can register your interest - but this isn't mandatory.

The important thing is that on October 15th you make that all important blog post (and tag it 'blog action day').

Also, if everyone tags their post 'blog action day' we'll compile a list of all the My Opera blogs! up

Can we be expecting to hear from the Global Environmentalist & Nobel Peace Price 2007 winner himself, Al Gore?

I'll throw in a piece wink

Shanemiracleboy Saturday, October 13, 2007 6:07:52 AM

yay for social engineering. I love jargon. First thing in removing this so-called carbon footprint is the notion of selflessness, if humans can realize that we have the power to elevate others or destroy others and choose to elevate, then we will begin to get somewhere. I want a windmill in the back of my home for self-sustainable energy, removing regulated self-centered government ideals from my footprint. There's a big world out there and it starts with helping someone beyomd self. Cheers, great idea...
