Wanna Rock with Opera?

In case you haven't heard, we'll be having a rockin' party in San Francisco, and if you're available on October 25th (and ideally the day after) we're holding a special contest to send one lucky My Opera member from anywhere in the US to the party (travel and lodging paid for by Opera, of course).

What you have to do is to write a blog post (on My Opera) explaining why you should be picked to attend. When you've written the post send us the link and we'll decide who gets to go to San Francisco to party with The Binges, The 88, and of course Opera. :headbang:

Be sure to submit your entry by Friday October 19th (that's one week from today), so we have time to go through all the submissions.

This contest is exclusive for people residing in North America because it's difficult to arrange travel and Visas for international visitors on such short notice. There will be an open bar, so members under 21 shouldn't apply. In the meantime, we hope you'll participate in our online parties on October 25th to make this event truly global (more details to come)!

For those of you already in the SF Bay Area, there are several opportunities to get on the guest list. Check out rock.opera.com for more information.

Contest should be open to whole world not a particular country. This type of contest is not expected from Opera. very bad.:down:

i think, 'rock.opera' in California may have the calendar for first events 'rock.opera' in the worlds. I'm in Jakarta ready to seizing for Management Tour and Party. Can you quote this meaning to invited me to studying at the rockin opera california party.?

We have more and more offices around the world, and we're strengthening our marketing presence in each of those countries, as well as countries where we don't have offices. Our plan is to eventually host more events in different regions - maybe even yours! One reason we chose San Francisco for this event is because we recently opened up our Silicon Valley office.

If you'd like to organize an Opera event in your region and want our help, please let us know or join Choose Opera to brainstorm it with your fellow Opera enthusiasts.

Oh, by the way, if you haven't seen the official press release yet:

"The concert will be streamed around the world live on my.opera.com, Opera's very own online social network with blogs, photo albums and much more. No matter where any of Opera's millions of fans are, they will be able to take part in and enjoy this event."

@soumitram4u: Usually we want our competitions to be open to everyone, regardless of where they live. In this case, because it's such a short period of time before the concert, we didn't believe we could run a competition that allowed us to fairly find a winner and then get the winner appropriate visas.

What we don't want to do is declare a winner, only to then disappoint everyone when a visa cannot be processed in time.

We do strive to keep everyone included, that's why we're planning to stream the event live on my.opera.com. Even if someone can't be there live, they can rock out with us in spirit.

@zoligrg89: Hmmm...good idea. Let's how this one goes first and then we can look at expanding to other areas. As you can imagine, we spend our time making browsers, so this is a little new to us. :smile:

I am in. :smile: I think I can use some fun. This f-ing pain is pushing me to my limits. And if this also allows my wife as I can not go with out help... :frown:

I will write about it. You decide. And, living in cold arse ROCHESTER NY sucks like no ones business... When SF is where I was born and drew up, and in the San Jose, and that Bay area... Now we can not see mot get a break.

LOL I don't think they will pick me... I need my wife to come with me... As, I can not get around without help now... I mean once in my wheelchair I can go pretty good... LOL But, it is trying to do the normal things... Dress, shower, and such that I need help with most days... :frown: Oh driving I can not anymore...

And, I live 3K miles away... That would be some insane airfiar. So I wish the person they pick LOTS O FUN :smile:

Good bands too... LOL :smile: I have been to three concerts... I do not find many groups worth seeing live. :smile: And, aftar hearing these groups, and seeing them in the videos... They look like a fun live show. :smile:

I saw the Yellow Man, Cher, And, Willie Nelson... O,o I know I am such a rocker... LOL P:
