An Artist In You

opera fan art

Not every contest on My Opera is aimed toward Web developers or made dependent on pure luck. We also appreciate Opera fans who know how to express their commitment using gradients (or even crayons). This small (and humble) contest is aimed directly toward all of you. If you have any unfinished artwork collecting dust in your computer cabinet, or if you want to create something new, but struggling a bit to get started... Well, we hope this contest will kickstart your heart design. P:

Rules and Guidelines:

  • This contest is open to anyone who's a registered member of the My Opera community.
  • There's no age limit required to participate.
  • You warrant and represent that you own the rights to all contribution submitted by you. If the submitted artwork contains elements that violate, misappropriate or infringe any copyright, trademark or other proprietary right of any other person or entity your submission will be withdrawn.
  • There are no "guidelines". Any resolution goes; feel free to design a cool wallpaper for example. Basically; anything Opera related goes.
  • Multiple submissions are allowed.
  • Send us a link to your entry (a My Opera photo album for example).
  • Deadline is next Wednesday (January 16th).
  • Winners will be announced the following Friday (January 18th).

I want a cookie!!

The best submitted fan arts will be rewarded. 1st prize includes:

  • Opera laptop bag
  • Opera cheese slicer with instruction manual
  • Opera fan-buttons
  • Opera pen
  • Internet currency #1: T-shirt

2nd prize is an Opera cheese-slicer and a My Opera t-shirt.

3rd place is rewarded with an Opera t-shirt.

Good luck and have fun everyone! :headbang:

Kudos to Oleg Melnichuck for Opera fan art illustration image.

Sure! As stated in the rules (and contest description) we appreciate artists using gradients (digital work) or even crayons (drawings).

Hiroyuki 14. January 2008, 01:21

Night wolf, are you the originator of the "So simple, yet so powerful" opera design in your entry, or just the fist below it? The "so simple..." design was published by someone on the forums here back in 2005, whereas you only seem to have been a member since 2007 so I am confused as to whether you are the original artist or not.

The reason I ask is because I want to enter a work which was based on that design (albeit completely reworked so that little more than the use of a red backdrop and the reflection on the "O" remains recognisable).

Anyhow my submission, if it is considered sufficiently original by Opera, is this image: http://my.opera.com/infinity-1/albums/showpic.dml?album=364980&picture=5243697
I actually made back it in October 2006 as a reaction to sleekness of the "so simple yet so powerful" design: I preferred a "well worn" look.

night wolf 14. January 2008, 12:29

Just the fist below is my work  and put any work you got no problemo Here i got a new one: http://my.opera.com/night%20wolf/albums/showpic.dml?album=269281&picture=6277438

Enjoy :D
