An Artist In You
Wednesday, 9. January 2008, 14:57:36
Not every contest on My Opera is aimed toward Web developers or made dependent on pure luck. We also appreciate Opera fans who know how to express their commitment using gradients (or even crayons). This small (and humble) contest is aimed directly toward all of you. If you have any unfinished artwork collecting dust in your computer cabinet, or if you want to create something new, but struggling a bit to get started... Well, we hope this contest will kickstart your heart design. ![]()
Rules and Guidelines:
- This contest is open to anyone who's a registered member of the My Opera community.
- There's no age limit required to participate.
- You warrant and represent that you own the rights to all contribution submitted by you. If the submitted artwork contains elements that violate, misappropriate or infringe any copyright, trademark or other proprietary right of any other person or entity your submission will be withdrawn.
- There are no "guidelines". Any resolution goes; feel free to design a cool wallpaper for example. Basically; anything Opera related goes.
- Multiple submissions are allowed.
- Send us a link to your entry (a My Opera photo album for example).
- Deadline is next Wednesday (January 16th).
- Winners will be announced the following Friday (January 18th).
I want a cookie!!

Cheese slicer = Norwegian invention for slicing thin slices of cheese. Trust me, you love it when you know how to use it

Do entries have to be done on the comp? Can you draw/make stuff and take a photo of it?

The reason I ask is because I want to enter a work which was based on that design (albeit completely reworked so that little more than the use of a red backdrop and the reflection on the "O" remains recognisable).
Anyhow my submission, if it is considered sufficiently original by Opera, is this image: http://my.opera.com/infinity-1/albums/showpic.dml?album=364980&picture=5243697
I actually made back it in October 2006 as a reaction to sleekness of the "so simple yet so powerful" design: I preferred a "well worn" look.
