Performance problems finally fixed!

Introducing: The Hammer of Justice

For many years we've been the victim of one user in particular who has abused our smiley function, caused sleepless nights for many Opera developers, and in general tried to be a friendly cool user, but our patience (and servers) have now peaked.

The person we're referring to is so dedicated to Opera (and its community) that we've been forced to ban Tamil and introduce a new set of guidelines operating under the codename: The Hammer of Justice

Update: Welcome back Tamil!

Face the fury of the hammer if you:

Surpass the limit of forum posts!
Ever so slightly destroy, brake, and/or nuke My Opera!
Need any help using our resources (a.k.a. "employees")!
Eat too much bandwidth^*!

So, with the new rules in place, we hope everyone will have a pleasant stay on My Opera.

We also have some other really good news for you as well.

^* Our tubes are kinda narrow, really...

Not to sound totally stupid . . . but your saying the smilies were slowing down your servers, because of the load times possibly?
And the fellow was so dedicated to the Opera community, and nice that he was banned?
I am still looking for the rules that states what the limits are for post counts.
I guess we can't ask for help either,if there is a problem . . .
No clue how to figure out if we are using too much bandwidth . . .

So my only thought is . . . this has to be an April Fool Joke?

I think Opera has contacted Tamil not to post any comment into this thread so other member will think that this article is true.

Bannings don't usually work for several reasons . . . so I am still on the side that this is a hoax. But all his help topics are gone, so that makes me wonder. Don't know the guy or this situation that well, so I don't know what to think. It is just very odd how they went about it.

If he was of a help to people all I can think is possibly a promotion. It might make sense. But again I have no clue what this guy did other than post a whole lot as I have seen in the past.

The new avatars is interesting.
I guess I am a very suspicious and questionable person.
I will leave this to the boys AND girls behind the scene and see how this plays out.
