Opera Mini 4.1 beta
Wednesday, 2. April 2008, 08:43:49
We have now released the beta preview of the newest version of Opera Mini. This is version 4.1 and it improves the way it interacts with your phone to make browsing more convenient, more productive and definitely more fun.
Opera Mini is available to download for beta testing now.
If you think this is good, then support us and digg it!
Features and good stuff:
Autocomplete your URLs
Opera Mini will automatically suggest URL completions, making address input easy and intuitive. When typing addresses, Opera Mini 4.1 beta will recognize and suggest completions for you (based on your Bookmarks and browsing history), making the input faster, easier and much more intuitive.
Save pages
On phones with JSR-75, Opera Mini 4.1 beta lets you save pages for offline viewing so you can quickly access and read your content if you're in places where you can’t get network reception. Depending on your phone, you may need to choose a destination folder for storing pages for offline viewing.
Find content in the page
Finding words or phrases on your small screen is now easier (watch the guided tour video how this works). This beta lets you search for text within a Web page so you can get to the information you need quicker than before.
Download and upload files
On phones with JSR-75, you can now upload and download files without being re-routed to your phone’s native browser. Update your blog or upload photos. You can also add attachments easily to web-based email, and download other non media-rich content to your phone.
Also, we know a thing or two about performance.
Opera Mini 4.1 features speed improvements and is faster than Opera Mini 4.
Availability and feedback:
Opera Mini 4.1 is a free download. Note that not all features may work on all phones or in all regions (contact your mobile operator to check availabilty of all features on your handset).
We use the feedback you give us to improve our products. Please let us know what you think about Opera Mini 4.1 in our forums. ![]()

Bug report form does not give option for Mini 4.1, so I didn't know where to post this.

congratulations! you have solved many problems.
I just downloaded 4.1beta on N70,running on bsnl north, initially it looked slow, maybe I'm on a slower phone(earlier on k750i). But the things improved by selecting- mobile view. I've even saved a page!
Bestwishes,
-yagyik.

The upload function indeed has an issue of creating an empty file. I tried it on flickr (as it was shown in video) but it is still not working.

i have the images turned of in the browser to save on data traffic, but the rss reader in 4.0 insist on downloading images in all postings of a feed...
edit:
just checked and no. and this is imo troublesome as i use opera mini as a feed reader on the go, and often the number of unread entries have built up, leading to multiple 100K downloads thanks to the images some pages like engadget stuff into their feeds.
