Member of the week

In most parts of the world, spring is now making its approach, and what's better than to meet a member who portraits himself as a beer drinker, downloader, and time waster. ![]()
We find his blog lighthearted, and his posts are really cool. For instance, he is confident that you can eat your way out of a hangover. It's clearly not the time for healthy eating, and his favorite food is cold leftover pizza straight from the refrigerator. Doesn't sound too tasty, but he also provides a list of good hangover remedies which works for him. However, these items should be avoided at all costs:
- Prickly foods like salads.
- Milk.
- Boiled eggs.
- Anything that might look extremely unpleasant later.
We're not sure how many of you who'll find this list useful, but since it's weekend, many of you might enjoy a drink or two. ![]()
We know there are many Linux enthusiasts on My Opera, and this member used to run Slackware for more than 10 years, but with release 12, he felt it had become too much trouble. We guess there was way too much
over a few little niggling problems. He's now using Kubuntu, which is a total breeze compared to getting under the hood with Slackware.
Anyway, for a great read, we recommend you check out slackwrdave's blog, this week's member of the week! Congrats! ![]()

thank ya thank ya thank ya.
Sweet review from EspenAO. thank ya thank ya thank ya.
Don't let the hangover stuff mislead you too much though. I only booze it up *when* I have lots of time for it, like never during the workweek or if I have anything serious to do the next day. I'm no *overtly* decadent boi, lol.
I saw the pics from that operasoftware anniversary party on that little island some time back. Gosh, I shoulda been there.
I thought blogging was a drag until I started exploring myopera. It really is miles (Km?) above the rest.
Kind regards,
Dave

What a good weekend. Thanks everybody.
I have a 12-pack in the fridge. Who's coming over for a drink?
There are sodas and juices, too. We try to be sensitive to everybody.

Anyone who has learned the secret of cold leftover pizza deserves to be MotW.
slackwrdave # 10. May 2008, 15:08
And CultureSurfer, I too usually snub Hershey, as they have bought up all the competition and have "standardized" all the odd little candies that used to be so good. Oh, and their Christmas candy is totally ridiculous. It's those same old chocolate Kisses dolled up in red and green wrappers. Sheesh!
My mom gave me a bag of Hershey ultra-dark chocolate, and it's actually impressive, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
This MOTW has been very fun, meeting lots of people, and seeing lots of fine blogs and photography.

Somebody got indirectly called "old" by a lowly spammer.

I wouldn't take that age thing personally, I think it's one of those stock phrases that required by the unwritten laws of spam

Yes, I read David's grammatically incorrect response to the spammer & thought it was one of the funniest, most creative posts I have seen on Opera.
Gone are the days when the word "spam" used to make me laugh thanks to Monty Python.
slackwrdave # 11. May 2008, 00:56
Now I wish I hadn't deleted my reply to the spammer. I got embarrassed for a sec and hit delete.

Lest we forget the Nigerian Princess who wants to deposit your funds in her bank account. I have a friend who now calls me Princess Naomi due to an e-mail he received from an alleged Nigerian princess with my name.
