member of the week

My Opera would not have been the same if it had not been for one member in particular. Not only is he one of the most talented graphical artists we know, but he has a huge passion for Opera (on Mac), Nintendo (he's a moderator in the infamous Nplus group), and he has contributed in ways we could not even imagine.

For instance, he's the artist behind blog design masterpieces such as:

We know many of you hold these designs dearly, and so do we. Last, but not least, who can forget his instant classic "Operaman & Speed Dial" artwork:

Here's for everything so far Dustin! You're an inspiration for the entire Opera community and we hope you'll continue using My Opera from time to time. Good luck with your new log. It looks fantastic, as expected. :cheers:

congratulations. I have seen some of your work earlier and I was pretty impressed by it and by the very nice desing of the page. It has changed since, but I like this one also...

It's bad enough to go to My Opera and see my ugly face staring back at me, but it's a completely different thing to see me as Member of the Week!

Thanks a lot guys. I get to work, sit down, open Illustrator, open Opera, and then see my picture in the Speed Dial preview. I then bug MTKnight by the way of IM with a series of ellipses. I'm stunned.

I don't plan on going away. I'll still bug everyone here just like I did before. Maybe Fred'll get some time to work with me again. Creating those designs were a lot of fun. :cheers:

Fred might be mad at me, though. I was talking to him yesterday and didn't say anything about my new log. About two seconds after he logs off I flip the power switch to turn it all on.

I read your new blog on Opera Mini on the bus last night, and thought it looked really good. Now when I see it on a big screen it looks even better :smile: Congrats on both the new log and becoming the MOTW :thumb:

I wanted to comment on this yesterday, but I am to lazy to write on my phone most of the time p: Just wanted to say if it is good enough for Google, it can't be that bad. I'm sure you will move over to Python eventually like the rest of us :smile:

Hahaha By all means respond on the log when you get the chance. Use your My Opera address and you can use your avatar from here! I thought you'd respond about my Python comment (hoping you would!). I didn't mean it wasn't worthwhile as I've used Python before. It's definitely good enough for Google, and it probably will be for me. The only thing I'll have to do is spend hours and hours reprogramming functionality of PHP's built-in functions and classes (along with tons of stuff Jeff and I have programmed), but that'll be completely worthwhile when/if I do it because Python'll be faster :D.

Maybe I can bug ya when I hit road blocks :D.

Yeah, I read that. It was a great idea I have never thought about before. I will test it out soon enough be sure. BTW, did you consider OpenID as an alternative? It could also enable you to get hold of an avatar/picture from the person posting, although not from MyOpera.

Yeah. That was my original intent, and if I was going to do OpenID I was going to try and integrate it myself; but like everything originating from livejournal you need a PhD in idiocy to understand its documentation (or in some cases lack thereof). I'll probably add it in later.
