Opera 9.6 beta 1

Opera 9.6 beta 1 — Now available for download!

Last week a new browser was introduced to the world. This week, another Web browser makes its debut. Opera 9.6 beta is out today. The day is short and with features such as tabbed browsing, Speed Dial, customized search, Opera 9.6 beta is the Web browser that makes you faster.

What's new and improved

Opera Link in the Opera Web browser saves the day... and your settings! Move from your computer to your phone without losing your saved Web browser settings. Your bookmarks and Speed Dial will be ready and waiting when you start up your phone with Opera Mini.

We're also introducing a new feature called feed preview. This means that you can preview an RSS/Atom feed before subscribing. This is really cool and you can try it out even here on My Opera. If you're using Opera 9.6 simply click on the small RSS feed icon () located to the right in your address bar.

Opera Mail. A new feature in Opera Mail is "Low Bandwidth Mode" — a setting that makes Opera Mail use as little bandwidth as possible. There have been several improvements with our built-in mail client. Have a look at the complete changelogs: Windows | Linux | Mac.

Wallpapers are available for download and so are banners. Help us spread the word!

Report any bugs in this Opera 9.6 beta to bugs.opera.com/wizard

The most important thing you do today is download Opera 9.6. Have fun with our new beta!

Important note: This is a beta version of Opera. Please use it only on properly backed up computers.

Quit error fixed, still only displays pages once fully loaded. Also wipes current page while new page is being loaded. Quite annoying.

I am not yet ready to download it. What makes me doubt is that it is Beta version, though I am a layman in all that.

The "Scroll Marker" is a nifty feature that puts a mark at the top or bottom of your screen when you scroll up or down.

Ok. I have only been using Opera for 2 months now and I LOVE IT! I can't see how you can improve this! I will only go back to IE when I absolutely need to. Which is rare. I can get everything I need from Opera. It's the best! Thank you!

xblades 11. September 2008, 16:21

Good news, keep it up Opera!
