Startup problems

Opera annoucementSince yesterday's release we've run into some startup problems. We're working hard to get all the new cool features on My Opera back up and running again. Thanks for your patience and understanding on this matter.

If you have a bug which is not identified and listed below, please report it in this forum post.

Known issues

  1. My Opera might be slow from time to time as we continue optimization. This is a known issue and if you experience proxy errors, no response or general slowness this is something we're working to fix as soon as possible. Edit: Fixed! :hat:

  2. Profile images and avatars are not showing. We're currently using a temporary image placeholder. Your image and avatar is not removed or deleted. All data is restored and you will have your profile picture and avatar back soon. Edit: Fixed! :hat:

  3. Activity Feed. The newly added feed to My Opera is currently deactivated due to performance issues. This will be fixed soon. Edit: Fixed! :hat:

  4. After sorting pictures in a photo album it does not save, but simply redirects to the edit page. Yes, this is confirmed too. We're fixing it. Edit: Fixed! :hat: see latest batch of changes

  5. We have reports on Swedes visiting where My Opera automatically thinks they're Norwegian... Well, this is unfortunate (whether this is a bug or a "feature" can be discussed), but the site should be displayed in English if your native language is not supported.

I didn't think Opera Community had any bugs, only features?

Fix them soon!

Oh, Tamil. You're so demanding for a free service. P:

Fernando Hermosilla 19. November 2008, 13:39

I've encountered yet another issue, nor the profile picture nor the avatar picture are shown when the site is loaded. some of the other pictures/photos aren't loaded either everytime I visit the site.

Olga 19. November 2008, 13:53

MY OPERA!!! WE ARE WITH YOU!!!!! flirt

53north 19. November 2008, 14:15

All fine here on mobile. Changed my avatar to match the new header position.
Hitslink told me my blog was taking hits again. Going to take time getting used to the extra functionality. I already had full translation via babel and google on my blog and none of your pages were big enough to warrant the seperate mobile site...

softrank 19. November 2008, 14:19

I hate New MyOpera ..........
I h've it In Spanish ..........
:yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

Nikio 19. November 2008, 14:21

Just take your time... it was massive update and of course it can't all work at once.

BS-Harou 19. November 2008, 14:23

I think the older my opera was better, too ... but i hope its only matter of time

baby_2u 19. November 2008, 14:32

I could be totally wrong on this, but, if you had beta testers checking the features...why didn't these things get fixed before it went live? Or were they not aware of these problems? If I'm way off base on this one, sorry. I do like the new setup though, and as a true "Operaholism"...Keep up the good work

Martin 19. November 2008, 14:35

I usually go by the motto - "It's not broken, it's ADVANCED"

I rather have a few bugs then nothing at all. And as usually Opera uses it's community of users to help solve the problems. So should be done any minute now

PolOpera 19. November 2008, 14:37

Bug in Spanish Forum.
The messages are not well displayed

Kittylicious 19. November 2008, 14:38

We have reports on Swedes visiting where My Opera automatically thinks they're Norwegian...

This goes for Danish users as well.

der Wandersmann 19. November 2008, 14:51

Now, this is queer ... my avatar was up last night, but not this morning ... but all the avatars for these comments seem to be up.

Upon checking, so is mine ... here, but not at the top of the page.

Curiouser and curiouser.

AlongTheRoad 19. November 2008, 14:52

Tom 19. November 2008, 14:53

I'm Swedish, and I don't mind Norweigan. In fact it doesn't matter at all if it's Norweigan or English.

superPLUTO2 19. November 2008, 14:54

The new my.opera sucks!
Please relaunch old my.opera

Haadka 19. November 2008, 14:55

 :jester: :D

Kiran 19. November 2008, 14:57

Frankly speaking,I didn't like the separate MyOpera version for mobile phones. Please give me my earlier MyOpera. What about bridging the gap between Mobile phones and PCs?Day by day the hardware specs of the handsets are improving and the mobile networks are getting faster.I want my earlier MyOpera back.

andrew 19. November 2008, 15:03

i like new my opera..hope u fixed it soon..

Anna 19. November 2008, 15:03

The mobile view is great  it's very convenient! Take your time in fixing problems, it's a great job, and we know you are doing your best

andrew 19. November 2008, 15:04

i like new my opera..hope u fixed it soon..

Đỗ Nam Khánh 19. November 2008, 15:05

Try hard, we will always be side you

Jay Myerson 19. November 2008, 15:07

Homer: Doh! I must say that I too prefered the old version of my.Opera.

Brian 19. November 2008, 15:11

Slow from time to time? What did they do to the United States server??? It is painfully slow. It would have been nice if they left Opera alone. All I see is design changes. Everyone's profile pictures are gone. It is taking twice a long to load pages now. They still do not have a JAVA picture upload. I am seriously considering moving my blog somewhere else. I don't want to take 20 minutes to do a blog post when it should take 5.

Ace Jon 19. November 2008, 15:12

I can't get on the N+ page at all, which is almost the sole reason I visit My Opera. :frown:

Brian 19. November 2008, 15:15

Nakio- the upgrade should have COMPLETELY worked when it was released. I worked for a banking software company for 5 years. The bank did not tolerate parts of our software working. Yes, this is just blogging and not financial systems, but what was wrong with the old Opera??? Beta testing should have been given a green light before they pushed out the update.

Perryking 19. November 2008, 15:35

Bug in Spanish forum.

Jean Chicoine 19. November 2008, 15:37

you're doing a great job, guys, and i know you'll get everything sorted out as soon as possible,
but, i'm still let down with the fact that there's no "real" options for the photo albums, like the option to sort the albums themselves, that's a downer for me that i'm still stuck with the pre-set albums order, oh well :raider:

klonkk 19. November 2008, 15:59

i'm sure these things will be fixed soon.
to blog works fine.

Jad 19. November 2008, 15:59

klonkk 19. November 2008, 16:10

i told you so!
the pics are back.
and software without errors is no software.
nothing is perfect, not even software.

Alex 19. November 2008, 16:19

Bug bug bug. Big bug. bug

Btw, if one'd like to translate My Opera to another language (Swedish, perhaps?) where would one turn to?

Phạm Nguyễn 19. November 2008, 16:58

i'm really happy when seeing my avatar photo back

Kiran 19. November 2008, 16:59

If you can't bring back former My Opera, please at least give 'account' option in the 'PC view' also. Now I have to switch to 'mobile view' option to access my account.

Adrian Pizarro 19. November 2008, 17:03

Ah, no worries over here, such a big change couldn't been made without any issues. What matters is that you are identifying and fiximg them. bug

By the way, not all emoticos are being shown right now, or at least not for me.

Grettings.

Vladas 19. November 2008, 17:09

Everything is Ok with New MyOpera! Keep your good work on.

Only one thing - can it be just an option to remove my avatar from the top bar? I don't like my avatar here.

creegah 19. November 2008, 17:44

 Love everything (I'm easy to please). You guys (& gals) are amazing.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
