Since the launch of Opera 10 beta yesterday we asked Jon Hicks to send a few words about the new skin as many of you are curious if it's a work in progress, what direction is it taking and so forth. So, without further ado, here's Mr. Jon Hicks discussing the new skin:

I'm glad that a new skin had to be made, it's a major improvement and even makes Opera "feel" easier to use!

Looks great to me! I can find some room for improvement, but I'll hold off and see what changes are still being worked out. I just hope that by then Opera will still be open to or listening to skinning improvement suggestions. :wink:

The news skin, especially the Mac Native one, is outstanding. You've made a browser I could barely stand to look at into a pleasure.

As a user with dimming vision, I find this skin is much easier to use. It goes well with Windows 7 basic theme.

I like entracte2aqua better, the icons especially and the theme is darker grey which is really well polished. The only thing I like about this new theme is the panels, the blue would match the entracte blue bar and tabs nicely.
