Online Writer Competition

Online Writer Internship contest

Opera is offering a fully paid, six-month internship including your travel to Oslo, Norway. Your role will be to write articles for our Web properties, to copy edit them, and to support our marketing activities and product launches.

Your field of studies is not important, but you must be able to demonstrate solid writing skills in English. You should have an exceptional understanding of technology, the ability to explain complex issues simply, and the lightness of touch to move easily between the humorous and the professional.

How to apply

Submit an article on our competition page. This process is open to everyone. This article will be based on a specific topic. We will ask our community to read the articles and choose the ones they like the best. Based on community popularity and our opinion we will pick a group of finalists to write a second article.

EXCEPTIONAL UNDERSTANDING OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION - From all indication, a lot of us had already been ousted from participating in this wonderfull competition by the topic, i.e "Innovation in technology" with special reference to our darling browser OPERA. The fact that the publication said it's open to everybody did not qualify all my.opera members/fans but those who are sound and aware of technology yesterday, today and may be tomorow in order to present something tangible. How i wish i have such outstanding or exceptional understanding of technological innovation, i would have loved to participate. However, good luck to those who have. More grease to my. Opera resource persons. And to all members of my. opera community, i say have a wonderfull day and God's blessings in abundance. Thank you !

Kaitz 30. July 2009, 15:08

What a nice idea, this contest. I love to see the articles from everyone. I curious what kind of quality is coming out of this.

riptorn 30. July 2009, 22:31

This is good!
A chance to express my writing skills!!
Great!!

Sheriflaw 30. July 2009, 22:43

On a second thought, there's no harm in trying. Don't be surprised that the tech. folks might not be skillful enough to explain complex issues simply. Writing on its own requires techniques
After all what is there in technology if not techniques and know how. Let's slug it out at the on line competition  :coffee:

vrianroi 31. July 2009, 00:24

c’mon we’re all after this writing stuff, its just that trying without enough understanding bout the certain topic cant make it there. :frown: anyway, good luck to those techie writers! :D
