Opera Unite applications box

We're really excited about the response after the beta launch of Opera Unite, and our developer challenge is going great with new weekly submissions. cool

So, instead of announcing only one new application next week, we're going all out and announcing a new Opera Unite application every day, starting this Monday and ending Friday! yes

You can submit your application at any time during this period, for review. Contest rules from our developer challenge still apply, but we will be flexible on this area. We recommend everyone to submit applications, even if they are in alpha- or beta stage.

A few Ideas to help you get started

  • Tree house: Remote control of lights and heating of your backyard tree house!
  • A chess simulator.
  • Birthday: An application where visitors can leave a birthday greeting for friends!
  • Hangman! Come up with a word and send a link to your friends to see if they can crack it!
  • Cooking Unite: A place to share recipes with comment functionality. Add support to embed photos + videos and I think we got a winner!
  • Pong! The classic old school game.
  • Look what I found: A sandbox where you (and visitors) can drag'n'drop anything cool discovered online such as news articles, YouTube videos, game demos, etc.
  • Poker. Host your own game of Texas Hold 'Em.

It does not matter if it's not 100% done. We will review it regardless and rather focus on the idea and concept of the application. smile

Great ... I'm not a developer, but I like Unite and I would like it grow.

I would also comment on Unite's webpage. The list presenting the application (I mean the page where you see the Unite Application) is beautiful but not practical. At e common 1280x800 resolution you cans see only 4-6 applications on one screen. I would recommend a more compact design, like www.kde-look.org.
