High Five, Mimi!

Now we need the Latest Blog Posts back.
After all, that's why I used to advise people to set their Blogs to only 5 Posts per Page to bring down Blog Loading Time ... because the Latest Blog Posts marquee on our Sidebar would have our back as far as giving people the extended preview of what we had to offer in our Blogs.

Now if they don't bring back the Latest Blog Posts, people will probably be more likely to want to go back up to 10 Posts or MORE per Page, thus bringing back the longer Blog Loading Times.

I didn't realise it was removed. Though I don't use it myself,(Bu**er another senior moment! I actually use it. doh) I've no idea why they want to remove such a common feature.

+100 for the effort to bring back the LBP! up

I don't see where I could make Event Countdowns like in http://my.opera.com/(user)/account/events.dml

Also, what happened to Favorites? http://my.opera.com/(user)/favorites/

Mimis Mum (MM)mimi_s_mum Saturday, October 30, 2010 12:32:14 AM

Not sure if this has been reported, but Twitter integration is not working, at least with the photo albums. If upload new pictures onto an album from my-beta.opera.com, the tweet contain a truncated URL (example at http://twitter.com/mimi_s_mum/status/29132794020 )

Cleanclean Saturday, October 30, 2010 10:36:05 AM

Hmm ... if I publish a post from the ... uh ... old My.Opera, I get NOT FOUND for the addpost.dml page after I hit submit. But it doesn't seem to matter - the post is published regardless.

You know there's a reason that and the Archive weren't implemented in the design yeah? They're mixing them into a single, much more useful sidebar element. Click the year to get the months, click the months to get the posts, all in a list.

Where's the Favourites Menu Choice gone???????????????????????

confused

Cutting Spoonhellspork Saturday, October 30, 2010 3:23:52 PM

I've had a little trouble accessing the option to Log In, when using Mini. The screen on my phone seems too narrow for the mobile layout. (160v/120h)

Suntana Saturday, October 30, 2010 8:11:19 PM

Ohhh, a steroid-fortified Sidebar Archive Marquee, Eh, Furie?
Okay, we'll see what they cook up.
Unless you're pulling my leg of course. lol

No!!!! I HATE it when sites change things, especially when the changes are big. I hate change! I like you the way you are. That's why I came here! If you change what I came here for, then I'm not likely to stick around. So disappointing that people can't leave a good thing alone. Nothing stays the same for long and all good things really do come to an end. MyOpera's fine the way it is. What you really need to do is just fix the few glitches it has - background pics not loading, not being able to keep blocked users out of the shoutbox which hasn't been working for weeks anyway...

Change = evolution

Change is good.

Grandpa, get a new walking cane when your at it.

I like it except the forums are really a mess now. Instead of categories laid out can we get like an IP board or something?

The sub forums feature is nice. You got all that whitespace please consider increasing the size of the forums.

Thank you

Dark FurieFurie Sunday, October 31, 2010 12:05:17 PM

Totally serious.

We have simplified the blog navigation to work better for mobiles and give the page a lighter feeling. The menu links are now:
Blog
Photos
Links
Friends
About

Favorites and Archive can be reached from the sidebar, and Opera Unite is now available as its own section in the top Opera menu.

That's from Fred's post on this back in July. I started redesigning then. p

Desktop users: Unite and protest!!

Just kidding, I'm sure it will all be good in the end. I like it so far on my desktop. And where I can reach my Archive or latest blogposts from (menu or sidebar) isn't that important for me smile

All in for renewing. yes

When I click on the 'Community' section http://my-beta.opera.com/community/explore/[/url], I cannot see current news. The 'old' My Opera shows them fine.

Me too.

I think the beta may require separate integration authentication for outside social networks.

i can't write at shoutbox

frmo Wednesday, November 3, 2010 1:44:46 AM

Positive: It's more pleasant, not user-friendly, and above all much more intuitive.

Negative: the display options of the albums remains poor. I was sad to see that it is still impossible to customize the order the albums! We are stuck to having the albums ordered by chronological order of their creation.

Eddiemaceddie Wednesday, November 3, 2010 2:20:29 AM

From the 'latest activities' page, clicking on an album title now only takes me to the cover photo of the album, and not to the first page of the album (as the current myopera does).
I have to click again on the album title to see the first album page. This is annoying smile

Charles SchlossChas4 Thursday, November 4, 2010 5:03:35 AM

Has anyone else been getting some email notification for subscriptions, but the my.opera.com part of the url is missing

Samsonorasam Saturday, November 6, 2010 12:37:12 AM

So far it's working okay. Am having a problem with Opera 10 where it opens and then about 5 seconds later closes and shows an error message.

Eugénioyevgeny Saturday, November 6, 2010 11:23:46 AM

Didn't notice any major diference.

Should be much easier for Non-Opera members to comment (This Captcha system is horrendous). And most imortant of all should allow more compatability with Blogger.

Don't let the door hit you on your hyperbolic, whiny ass on the way out.

MyOpera's fine the way it is.

So because something is "fine" it shouldn't be improved? What a retarded statement.

sorinste-ven Wednesday, November 10, 2010 5:58:33 PM

compatibility guys, please compatibility with the other social networks and blogs headbang

Adonis @ my.opera /friendspartyworldAdonisali Thursday, November 11, 2010 4:02:25 AM

@Sorin: you mean that THEY have to be compatibel ? Impossible, or more precisely: insecure.

MyOpera now has OAuth and a status integration API. Not sure if they already allow blog integration but it seems to be moving in that direction. Plus Opera now has a Link API for bookmarks/notes, not sure what else. Could do some amazing things by attaching a webapp to that data.

(like using bookmarks and notes in Gmail?)

RainyShadow Wednesday, November 17, 2010 10:55:10 AM

I prefer the old style. How can i switch back?

Dark FurieFurie Wednesday, November 17, 2010 1:11:11 PM

You can't. It's been changed over now.
