This week's spotlighted blogger is a good one. From Viña del Mar,
Chile, we have a:
echo $(( `date +%Y` - 1974 ))
year old Opera fan with a huge passion for technology (especially Linux) and everything related to Web 2.0 (Flickr, Wikipedia, blogs, etc). Well, My Opera should be the perfect place for him then.
Besides weekly (and even daily) posting he has a huge photo album collection.
In particular, there are two photo albums which we think will be of interest:
 |
 |
| Using the Opera browser for medical resarch. |
Visiting Opera's HQ. |
He also has a really cool customized blog design, so in overall... This user got it all.
Keep up the good work and thanks for supporting Opera suribe.

With our latest My Opera release we also updated our help/FAQ section, and we want to know if it has everything you need. This is your chance to help us improve the community, so if you got a couple of minutes to browse through the help/FAQ section and give us your feedback in this post as a comment we would highly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
The My Opera team.

A web feed is a way for you to receive frequently updated news from content distributors (such as My Opera). This is a great way to always stay updated on new entries on your favorite sites. If you're using Opera you can be notified when you want.
I Want Candy News!
For those of you who have never subscribed to a newsfeed before we've assembled this short tutorial (for use with Opera):
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Click on the feed icon in the top right corner of the Opera browser. |
Choose your prefered newsfeed (RSS or Atom1). |
Click "Yes" in the confirmation box. |
Congrats! You are now subscribing to Opera Community news. |
Of course, this works on all sites which offers a newsfeed. All blogs on My Opera support this, so if you want to stay updated what your friends are writing about, this is the perfect way of doing so.
Feel free to play around with the settings of each newsfeed (right click the feed and choose "Properties"). You can also choose how often you want the newsfeed to update.
1 My Opera was one of the first sites that supported the Atom newsfeed. For more information about Atom we recommend you read the article on Wikipedia.
Kudos to Oleg Melnichuck for image illustration.

Kudos to our very own Fluffybunny for sharing this cool picture she snapped while she was out shopping in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Being an Opera fan, she immediately thought of cold snowy Norway and Opera in favor of sunny Brazil.
It's so cool when people think of Opera, especially in the most unlikely situations.
If you got any similar stories (or pictures) please share them with us as a comment in this post.

Click for big size, mmkay?

Opera is an interesting organization. We got a heap of cool people working in different departments. One department in particular has many... interesting individuals. This is the home of the Desktop Team. They've been working on every kid's dream: An arcade machine (running Opera Widgets).
The arcade itself will have The Amiga 1000 a computer running with the Opera browser so they can access all their favorite Widgets.
Follow the progress in the Opera Widget Arcade blog. Besides blogging, they've also uploaded photos:
This is good stuff.

For each month of the year we'll have someone special design a new blog theme for us. First out is our very own pixel monkey: Helmers. He used to work full-time for Opera, but has returned to the University to finish his degree.
Anyway, we're thankful he took time (of his busy schedule) to create this artwork for us. The theme is titled "Open Standards For Great Justice" and works perfect in combo with the following themes (and a black top bar):
- The Darkside
- Silver
- Pirates
- 16 bit Ninja
- Movies
Please Tell Me: How Do I Use It!?
If you want to use the theme, then follow these simple instructions:
- Go to your account page.
- Click "design".
- Click "custom style sheet".
- Copy and paste the code listed below into the textarea.
- Select "use my custom style sheet together with the current theme".
- Click "save".
