Our ever so hard working developers just released an update to My Opera. As the Facebook API was updated My Opera had to update as well. The automated sharing functionality is now a lot better, it contains more accurate information about your posts! As a bonus, it should also be a lot faster!
One small thing though. To activate the new Facebook implementation you need to remove the previous Facebook connection and connect again. This can be done through "Account > Social networks". Update it now and give it a spin!
Veritas is an Art Fashion Brand from the United States and is the brainchild of Opera user Ty Clark.
Ty has traveled to Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya, as well as Romania, Paris, China, Japan and Thailand. He has a passion for working with the needy, engaging culture, and inspiring hope through his art. Ty also maintains a large collective of artists and performers that are supporting a 50 city tour across the US this summer. His blog is a collection of notes from the road, great photos, and video, too.
We're going to be keeping an eye on Ty as he continues his US tour, and we want you to do the same, so cheer on our member of the week!
This morning we came across a recent video review of Opera. It was definetely a nice surprise coming out of nowhere from someone in Oklahoma, USA! We didn't even know we had users there!
This got us thinking. What if we surprised him back with a ton of video views courtesy of the Opera community? Let's say that we want to make sure he gets at least 10,000 views and 1000 comments. We hope he will be so surprised that he posts a new video thanking everybody. So, as a community experiment, we ask all of you to help to achieve this goal. Here are things you can do to help get the ball rolling:
Blog about it! Embed the video in your blog, so your readers are notified!
Tell your friends! Tweet or share the link to this post on your social networks.
Participate! Write a comment in his video or post a video response (if that's your style).
We would like to make this a real surprise for him, so don't tell him how you came across his video. He will easily find out by himself after a bit of research. This also makes it more fun - don't you think? However, make sure your comment is on subject and nice!
There are probably many more ways to engage, so feel free to get creative in the comments. What do you say? Wanna do a good deed for someone this week? Let's show the world the power of My Opera!
P.S. This was also posted on Choose Opera for those that don't subscribe there.
It seems something crazy is going on at Opera.com both the banner promoting My Opera and the community pages have been taken over by an awesome picture of Jon S. von Tetzchner riding a narwhal over a double rainbow!
It's not going to stay there long, so be sure to check out the amazing artwork. If you wonder what it's all about see this crazy reddit post.
