Votes have been pouring in for the last week and it has been very exciting to witness the drama exposed in our mailbox. Since we relied on community vote we feel the winners represent the true intent of the community.

Each winner will receive a framed diploma signed by the My Opera team.

And so, without further ado, let us introduce you to the winners of this years My Opera Awards! We would like to thank everyone who voted and contributed to the success of this event.

Best blog by a male:
	Nikio's blog is frequently updated with well-written decorated blog posts. He makes excellent use of all the features My Opera has to offer. For his contribution to the community he's rewarded the title "Best blog by a male". Congratulations!
Best blog by a female:
	We know many are passionate about nature and wildlife on My Opera and this member has with great success captivated readers by bringing the natural world to her blog. Adele (a.k.a. "SittingFox") is rewarded "Best blog by a female" by community vote. Very much deserved!
Best group:
	First started in July 2006, this group has not only grown in size, but also in quality (recently topped off with a truly excellent blog design). The work done by the moderators is a (optimus) prime example how to manage a group with more than 1200 members. The community has decided that the best group on My Opera 2007 is N+. Congrats to everyone involved!
Best photographer:
	Dudley has been an active member of the community for a long time and his extraordinary pictures is shared daily in his blog. As a photographer, he covers a huge spectrum of themes, and is therefore rewarded the title "Best photographer". Congratulations — Keep up the great work!
Most awesome profile picture:
	We received several awesome nominations to this category, but only five made it through. This profile picture is not only hilarious, but do complement the blog itself! September 19th was the official "Talk like a Pirate day" and this didn't go unnoticed in this blog! We congratulate Pain Diviner for having the most awesome profile picture!
Most awesome picture in a photo album:
	A picture is worth a thousand words — And this image by offspring is an example how one can replace a substantial amount of text with just a single image. For the most awesome picture in a photo album you have decided that offspring is the winner! Congratulations!
Most awesome blog theme:
	A dedicated individual who (especially for the Vietnamese community on My Opera) has assisted both new- and old members decorate their blog with beautiful designed blog themes. The award for most awesome blog theme goes to phamlam. Congrats!

It's time to recognize the true stars of the My Opera community: You! As we approach our millionth member , we wanted to recognize all the people who make My Opera as cool as it is.

We're giving you the opportunity to nominate candidates in two categories (see below). On Tuesday September 4th nominations will close, and five lucky finalists will be in the running to win.

The list of finalists will be presented here on My Opera, and we'll rely on community vote for this contest. Previously there has been discussion about the validity of an open poll, but we want the community - and not Opera - to determine the winners.

Ok, Ok, so what do I have to do?

Look through each category and submit your list of finalists for each subcategory. For example: Best blog by a male is [link to blog], best blog by a female is [link to blog], etc. You get the idea, but if you have any questions you can post them as a awesome comment and we'll reply.

Anywhow, on Friday September 14th there will be a grand award ceremony where we present the winners (get the popcorn ready)!
