Many of you use My Opera to share your photos. The current uploader has some limitations, but this is about to get fixed. With the upcoming release we will release a beta of our new photo uploader:

Other things you can look forward to is a brand new API documentation section and no more nuditiy on the front page - we will revert to a solution where we will pick our My Opera favorites (we know some of you will miss this "feature" ).
Good news, everyone! Today we have released the latest version of Opera Mini 4.2. Since the launch of the beta, speed trials have shown that this version gives more than 30% speed improvements for users in the US, due to addition of a new Opera Mini server park in ther United States.
This release also marks Opera Mini’s official availability on the latest version of the Android mobile platform. Opera Mini is now the first Web browser alternative on Android. A technical preview of Opera Mini was previously released for an earlier version of Android in April 2008. Users of Android-powered mobile phones, such as the T-Mobile G1, can now download a beta version of Opera Mini 4.2 and experience a faster and less costly way to browse the full Internet.
To celebrate we feel a visual power demonstration is needed. Enjoy our latest video we've made to launch the world's fastest browser for your mobile phone:
Be sure to check back during the day as we will share links to reviews and first impressions on Opera Mini 4.2.
Development for the upcoming My Opera site is now officially frozen. This means that we're no longer doing any more coding to the site, but mostly running through making sure the site is working as intended and there are no major .
We aim to release new My Opera hopefully by mid-November. Stay tuned for a lot of eye candy stuff, faster site and maybe a surprise or two. Tamil has some cool screenshots you can look at to shorten the wait.
Today we announced a deal with the Meridian Group to pre-install Opera Mini on its new Fly E310 handset. Meridian is a leading player in the mobile phone industry with its flagship brand of handsets, ‘Fly’. This isn’t the first time we’ve worked together; Opera Mini has been pre-installed on numerous Fly handsets since April 2007.
The Fly E310 is available in the United Kingdom, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Opera Mini comes pre-installed on these handsets and is translated into the local language. Fly E310 mobile phone owners can browse all their favorite Web sites using the world’s favourite mobile Web browser.
Commenting on the deal, Andrew Collinge, Member of the Board of Directors of Meridian Group, stated, “when it comes to offering our customers a fast, secure and cost-efficient Internet service on a mobile phone, the popular Opera Mini browser offers the user an outstanding experience.”
The Opera Mobile 9.5 beta is out, and it's available for free download right now!
“We are now answering the call of the people and delivering what we proudly proclaim to be our best Opera Mobile browser to date. It is a totally new user experience.” - Jon von Tetzchner
Opera Mobile 9.5 holds a multitude of upgrades. It's faster than ever loading up to 2.5 times as fast as Internet Explorer Mobile. The new interface is completely renovated, being cleaner and more intuitive, the new UI is designed for quick and easy navigation. Of course Opera Mobile 9.5 is the most standards compliant browser out there. Opera Software remains steadfast in its commitment to make the Web accessible for all.
Of course there is tabbed browsing, support for widescreen content and small-screen rendering. The all powerful wand is even back in the game so you don't have to spend your time trying to type in your passwords every time you try to enter the My Opera Community!
New month, new release. This time we've focused on adjusting parts of our new file upload policy by adding a warning page for users trying to download a file with no My Opera referral. Previously, you got a message stating that access was denied, but not anymore. We've also added a sharing functionality to some of the other major social networking sites. We hope you like the changes.
Changelog
Some video files which were not identified (such as .wmv) could be uploaded. This has been fixed.
Previously, the blogs section only showed global blogs, even if the selected 'tab' was 'New (local)'. This has been fixed.
We've added a functionality to share good posts on some of the major social networking sites. This feature is enabled by default, but if you want to disable the social links you can do it from your blog settings in the account page (uncheck "Enable content sharing" and save your profile). The social networking sites we provide a service for are:
del.icio.us
digg
Facebook
ma.gnolia
reddit
Slashdot
Blog posts dated in the future now works as intended (yeay!). This means that if you write a new post, date it one week ahead, it actually gets posted in the feed one week ahead.
We've added a warning page for users trying to download files with no My Opera referral. To avoid abuse and spoofing/phishing we've implemented a landing page with a link to the file in question.
Attaching files now works in forums again.
There has also been a lot of under the hood fixes (as always), but the visible and most important ones are mentioned above.
