The 1001st Widget!

1001st winner

But unfortunately one of the earlier widgets did not work.

All of a sudden another widget developer, Dantesoft, was in the lead. Everything was going in his favor, but suddenly his widget was removed from the list! "The Visitors" did not work on some computers, and he couldn't figure out why. Widget number 1001 was up for grabs again.

Henrik.haho submitted "TriTrans", a translation widget ... but left out a close button  His widget had to be put on hold.

Dantesoft fixed and uploaded the 1001st working widget and could claim glory and honor from the entire web applications community

As always we're not letting people walk away empty handed. We want to give haskellHacker and henrik.haho honorary prizes for the 1000th and the 1002nd uploaded widgets on widgets.opera.com.

Congratulations to all participants!

A Widget Milestone Reached!

1001st

We're close to having more than 1000 uploaded Widgets and we feel like celebrating. In fact, we're so stoked that we're giving away an Opera goodie bag filled with t-shirts, stickers, posters, Thomas Ford (:eyes:), pens, etc ... to the One Thousand and First Opera Widget!

Be prepared to see a whole new world of Opera Widgets as we continue our countdown for the 1337 widget. From the Web Applications team: A BIG thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!

Who will win a Nintendo Wii?

Since there were so many good submissions we couldn't narrow it down to a list of only five finalists. The jury thought long and hard, but failed to agree ... We have a total of six finalists! We now leave it up to the community to decide the winners

As of today (January 16th) we invite the community to review the widgets. You can contribute by writing a blog post, commenting on all of the finalists, and then link your review as a comment in this post. We strongly advise everyone to take part in this, as the voting for the best widget will be done by the My Opera community.

Good luck!

But that's only the grand prize. We're also giving away a Nintendo DS Lite and a total of eight Opera goodie bags, stuffed with a bunch of Opera t-shirts, pins, pens, stickers, etc.

So how does this competition work? It's simple. We're looking for the best widgets uploaded during the next month. Every three days, Opera will select the best widget from the widgets submitted during the days prior to the selection.
