Download Opera 9.6

Good news, everyone! Today we launched Opera 9.6, which enhances the performance and flexibility of Opera's built-in e-mail client, while adding new features to Opera's free browser-synchronization service, Opera Link... Among other things. Also, Opera 9.6 is of course being shipped with features many of you already have come to know and love, such as Speed Dial (one-click access to your favorite site), session restore, mouse gestures, etc. :hat:

All these features and many others bring a fresh approach to browsing the Web with Opera 9.6.

theoddbod 8. October 2008, 07:15

Downloading now :up:

:sst: I think the unclearable PM announcing it is a bit cheeky, though :left:

Krissaegrim 8. October 2008, 07:35

Well done! Opera is the best and fastest browser. 9.5 was slow sometimes, as a program I mean. But now it works fine, and even better.
O, and many thanks for Ukrainian language support:yes:

Robbie 8. October 2008, 07:47

Can I ask, do you guys tip Tamil off about when you're going to add a new post? He's consistantly quick.

Also can I say, kudos on the scroll marker, although I wish you gave the multi-option in the tools|pref menu. I much prefer the "Show Scroll Marker Always"--my previous way of doing this was just to highlight the text and scroll down, now I need to kick that habit--but I couldn't see the option of doing this in the menu after playing about with the config page.
The "2" option is much better. And if I'm going to be honest I'm not quite sure on the reason for the option "1", "Show when at bottom."?

And the speed does appear to be slightl better...although I'm not sure if that's just the "new-browser-feel" it has?

José Torres 8. October 2008, 08:13

None! :up:

Martin 8. October 2008, 08:17

You sure are fast on the updates :D

But that's what I like about Opera!

Got Opera 9.6

Wirawan Winarto 8. October 2008, 12:39

I think it's funny to have Indonesian version

some words do not exist in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language)
such as : bookmark, widget, feed, wand, cookie...

so my Opera now looks like half Indonesian - half English

walter 8. October 2008, 12:58

Got it :psmurf:

Dustin Wilson 8. October 2008, 13:05

Tamil's been beaten to the top post a few times, but that crafty booger is hard to top. Excellent news. I'll spread the word!

Ariesptn 8. October 2008, 13:25

I think Indonesian version of Opera has been good.
How can you translate bookmark, feed, wand, cookie to Indonesian? No, You can't.

Example:
Bookmark -> Tanda buku
Feed -> Memberi makan
Wand -> Tongkat sihir
Cookie -> Kue

Those are so strange and people can misunderstand it.
So, I prefer Opera's current translation.

Daniel Sitnik 8. October 2008, 14:32

Dennis 8. October 2008, 17:49

Oh, just great! :irked: Whose idea was it to put that notice above the pm's? :up: When will it go away, and -just for shits and giggles- does anyone have a Youtube link for the video? I can't view it on my phone... :furious:

Coleman Waite 8. October 2008, 19:33

9.6 is broke and I can't figure out how to fix it. It was broke when I started up this AM so if if I was still in 9.5 it was broke in that also and 9.6 don't fixit.I have even uninstalled and done a new install. I still can not access any internet sites. I have to use IE, ugh, to get online to write this. All I get is an Opera notice "no registered application for this extension."

Do I really have to start using IE after using Opera since 1.0?

Please send help to cwaite1@neo.rr.com

Looking Great Opera...

oenka 9. October 2008, 01:59

South Korea is the user

Opera 9.6 version of speed and fast, very good

But is a bug in Korean

When the SPACEBAR to write the last letters will be subject to nureuge

For example) abc(SPACE) -> ab c
Example 2) (abc) -> (ab)c

Korean will use the yireotseup

Never is a bug in version 9.5
