Opera Link

opera link

We've today released Opera Link. Wherever you are, whatever Opera browser you use, or whichever device you use Opera on, you can now instantly access your bookmarks, Speed Dial, and personal bar.

Wave goodbye to any tedious hassle of entering text in your mobile phone to visit sites you really like and say hello to a new level of convenience from device to device. You can today try Opera Link yourself, but only by combining the power of our newest product releases.

Yeah, cool, but how!?

Relax, it's easy. Opera Link forms a key cornerstone of two products still in beta: Opera 9.5 and Opera Mini 4. Combine those two products with the power My Opera's kicky cool Web interface, and you got convergence. Just head over to your account and scroll down to Opera Link to view or edit your synchronized Opera bookmarks and speed dial. So, check it out and drop us a comment here on what you think!

Nice idea, but I only see the following:
"There are no bookmarks in this folder."
No automatic sync, neither sync button!?

Hi!
Cool feature!:D We all waited for it.
Is there any way to share some bookmarks with others, like on del.icio.us , or it's only private?

rousni, to see your bookmarks on My Opera you first need to activate the synchronizing feature in the Opera 9.5b browser. you can read more here

Opera Mini on my mobile phone can`t sync; time out. What is wrong, everything is ok on my pc.

I thought I could import the bookmarks folder from the browser, and then link it to Opera Mini. And, most important, I want to be able to link my Feeds to Opera Mini!

Feeds are excellent for browsing with limited bandwith and screen!

As usual, Opera leads the way with cool integrated features. Sure, you can still do more with Firefox plugins, but then again those can be made by any yahoo with a compiler whereas everything in the Opera browser has the same high quality. I was using the alpha release for weeks and had almost no problems. Meanwhile, using the release version of IE is a nightmare. Way to go! Keep up the good work.

Is that a Sony Ericsson P1i that I see in the picture? Ironic - because attempting to download the latest Opera Mini with the built-in browser (which is Opera) gives the message 'your phone cannot run this software' :-(

Best regards,

By bupahs, # 26. October 2007, 12:42:32

That's what I've wanted to see for almost 3 years now:)
Unfortunately it doesn't work in my Opera 9.5. I've been using it since its very launch, but whenever I try to synchronise my bookmarks it says "Link communication error":frown:

Good morning all,

I have always thought in this feature, and now there is! Opera the best!

Bye!

By romanex, # 26. October 2007, 14:02:04

avatar
Not quite leading the way, since google already has a better extension for firefox. But wow, the benchmarks for this browser are very impressive for 9.5 and the sync is great too.
With the sync it'd be nice to have history, settings, toolbar layout etc. The best thing for opera would be an API for extensions, but that's a can of worms for security.

I like your style Furie P:. Although I'm not sure it's exactly conforming to the privacy regulations we're following tightly

I'm talking strictly voluntary obviously. Like all sidebar elements you'd be able to take it off. Plus the admin would be able to ban the next person who downloads Coffeedolphin on the grounds of excess stupidity.
