I would like to wish you my very best in your PhD endeavor. Hope all goes well.
I use CSS in my web development all the time, thanks to you. Though, with the advent browsers implementing different versions of CSS and some even their own CSS extensions, it can get kind of frustrating. Last night I spent about 4 hours trying to get the correct CSS layout (using columns) of the new Opera Watch site in all major browsers. It wasn't easy

I might have discovered a little bug in Opera along the way... I was reading fullscreen, when reaching the bottom I restored Opera from fullscreen with a second strike of F11 - and got jumped somewhere many screenfuls up
Keep shaping the world of CSS.
