It's a Wrap!

opera at sxsw

This years show was a success on many fronts, with consistently high attendance at our booth, packed rooms at the panel discussions by Tatsuki Tomita (EVP Consumer Products) and Charles McCathieNeville, and a great time at the Rock Opera event on Monday night.

The culmination of efforts resulted in a well-rounded SXSW experience that maintained our relationships with our community and certainly converted some new ones.

Our booth drew in droves of people, some stopping by to thank us for creating such a great browser, others with questions and suggestions, and those who (gasp!) wondered what the heck we do. Happy to help, we downloaded Opera Mini to a range of mobile devices and showed others the advantages to using Opera over another browser.

on the way to austin, tx

Panel discussions took on hot topics like browser wars and understanding web and digital media in China. Charles McCathieNeville spoke to a packed house and in the words of one blogger, “the best SXSW panel I've seen this year.” Tatsuki Tomita took on the booming market in China with fellow speakers from Pacific Sun Investment Management, Sony Pictures, and Trigger.

As most of the attendees depart SXSW for the return to our normal daily grind, we leave behind a few constituents to enjoy the music and film festival, as well as free beer and fun. If you didn’t have a chance to make it to SXSW this year, go ahead and book your tickets for 2009 – SXSW in Austin is definitely a good time!

"SXSWi 2008 Saturday and Sunday: Of beer, education, bowling, and sleep deprivation" by Chris Mills.

Where are the pictures from the rock opera event? There was a professional photographer walking around snapping pics, if like to see some more of them!

The live stream didn't work so well, and when it finally did everyone was kicked off because there were too many connections. Any chance the video is released?
